Not a bad foundation to work on at your age. All I recommend is a steady diet of Squat, Bench, Deadlifts Military press and tons of food and rest. You are young so the most important tip I can give you is that form is everything. In the long run form is what makes sure you don't get hurt and can add mass.... Good luck and glad to have you here

hey thanks man, i'm glad to be here.

military press, i've never done this before. i basically don't do anything pressing over my head. i also don't really have the bench to do military presses with. is there an alternative exercise? it's just not exactly the most regularly advised thing for me. usually it's like, squat, bench, and deadlift, then throw in some extra hamstring stuff..

Like LS said, you have a good solid base. Just keep lifting and eating good food and you will get there. :)

for 16 you are doing a good job... i wish i had started training at such an early age. i think you may be neglecting your back, start doing weighted pullups and you will get a lot more width, adding a lot to the illusion of size from back AND front. and do not neglect your shoulders... took me a while to realize how important they are for a good physique (and to hit higher numbers in bench, dips, etc). military presses with BB, or preferably DB, would be something i'd focus a lot on.

and don't be afraid to eat a TON. you are young, stuff yourself with tons of good food to build a really strong base, which will come in very handy as you progress. forget about having visible abs for a while and just BULK BULK BULK. good luck man, you are on the right track.

your looking pretty good.

you should definately be proud of yourself, and remember that all you can do is improve!:)

your poses remind me of myself...now i just gotta get up some balls and post mine:D

nice work man, looks like you have awesome muscle shape and a lot of potential. Squats, deads, benches, OHP and eat everything
!!

rice, looks good man. As the guys above me said, it looks like you've got a good foundation going. You can put some serious muscle on you if you eat more. Start eating LOTS. Start adding heavy compound movements in. Squats, deads, rows, presses, etc. You will grow like a weed.

Great pics brother! You have a great foundation and nice size to work with. Youll get to that 200. Just be patient and train hard. More then bodyweight, focus more on measurements since they tell the true story. Bodyweight can fluctuate alot and mean many different things. Ive been 185 with 16 inch arms and 185 with 18 inches. Not to mention the increases in everything else, but weight remained unchanged. Stay consistent, train hard and eat everything!!!!

Damn lucky hairless Asians :P

Lookin' good! Quite a big improvement in just a few months too.

thanks bro!

this is the first time i've ever counted myself as luck for being hairless. i haven't even started shaving my non-existent beard hah haha

thanks again WB. my arms are just short of 14... how is it possible to two inches of lbm without changing in weight or losing somewhere else?

Lookin' good man. Like me, actually. Measurements are about the same. I'm 178 and 6' though. Chest is 42" here, and legs are 23". 16" calves. Biceps 12.75". Higher bodyfat, too. No abs here.

Tom Treutlein - Cool man, you think maybe we could have some kinda workout race? I find competition is always good for the soul.

mrjrock19 - arnold press right? i hear it's bad to be pressing weight over your head at a young age. even though everyone tells me otherwise, i'd like to stay a BIT on the safe side. (the lure of squatting got me. before squats, i did nothing that put pressure on my spine haha).

From Zero - thanks bro. how are you doing on those db presses anyway? start duct taping on those 5s yet? cause you BETTER BE!! haha

MattRecc - thanks:) OHP??

SublimeZM - common... i want to see TEH PICZ!

nothinbutapeanut - but the glory of visible abs man... i've been doing a lot of weighted chins, but i can't seem to fill in my middle upper back. mainly for upper back i've just been doing reverse flyes, rows, and chins. i'd like to start face pulls, but no equipment. i work out in a shit little gym in the back of my school with no squat rack, just a bench and a set of dbs.

broly, visible abs are great for the ego, but if you wanna gain some serious mass you gotta eat like it's your job, and the abs may go in hiding for a while. it's well worth it though after you've gained that mass and then cut back down to sheer rippedness. screw weighted chins, you gotta do weighted PULLUPS... they focus a lot more on the lats/upper back and won't tire out your bi's. a lot of the upper back interestingly enough consists of the trapezius muscle (traps), so you may want to hit shrugs really hard (DB work fine, i like to do some BB behind the back shrugs as well). btw, those shit little gyms can end up being your best friend... you get to train creatively with REAL free weights, not those pussy machines in newer gyms.

and also, i have no idea where you heard that pressing above the head is bad at your age, but it sounds completely ludicrous. if you want size, you can not neglect your shoulder girdle... make it strong, hit up DB military presses hard, now!

pullups = wide grip, palms away, bar to bottom of the throat?

i'll probably start with some light db presses.

yup.. though try more of a shoulder-width grip rather than an all-out wide grip, get more bang for your buck.

with an exact shoulder width grip i can get in about 10 reps with bodyweight. don't really feel it in my back as much though, i like the parallel close grips for lats. this may sound weird, but i feel it in my forearms/brachials as if i was doing a hammer curl.

Very good job son!!...you have excess of testosterone in your blood in this moment so don't waste your time!. Keep eating very very good, sleep very well every night, keep working hard, as somebody said before hit the squats, the bench press, dumbell presses, shoulder presses, play with all the free weights.

lookin' GOOD, dude.....espically for 16!! popping out in all the right places, nothing out of proportion...by 24 you'll be awesome!!! at you age and single digit bf levels, don't be afraid to pack in the food......all you'll get is quality mass, not bf!!

now about that butt-ugly green chair in the background........J/k :)

djufo - thanks bro. i knew someone would call me "son" sooner or later :p

sermon_of_mockery - due to my extraordinary rice content, i'm actually not sure what/who you're talkin about. but thanks anyway!

ChewYxRage - yes, i do shurgs.

i'm running out of karma to pass around haha

Words of wisdom. Keep up the good work. Perservere and be determined.

rice, if you are worried about pressing it directly over your head use an incline bench and make it as steap as you feel comfortable with ( the higher the incline the more shoulder you will use).

and as far as the comment on squats and your spine...that is true dude.. i f**ked my back up doing too much weight on squats...if your weight room doesnt have a squat rack and you want to work your legs try some lunges with dbells (long deep lunges, will burn your quads with a small amount of weight). good luck

At your weight that wouldn't be possible.........just eat and train..........eat and train.....................eat and train................

You will gain weight and lbm will fluctuate..........but you are way too young to worry about that............eat and train..........

And not sure who mentioned form, but it is crucial at your age.....

Mad props for posting your pics...............and keep with it.....

thanks for the advice, i'll keep pushing for sure.

nice back btw, it looks like you're wearing a skin coloured backpack with a bunch of pipes in em. those errectors are just insane.

You look good. I did`nt look like that at 16. lol

Everybody already said it. But I will add, The biggest mistake I`ve made was NOT EATING ENOUGH. You may want to have ripped abs throughout and maybe you can be lean AND grow but you`ll do it much faster If you bulk with Tons of food. Think long term.

yep, major improvement between even the first set of pics and the second set. You came to the right place, the people here will practically make it their job to get you huge.

Looking forward to even more progress.

And stay with it!

Look good kid, looks like you made some good progress. You chest looks a little weak compared to your arms. Try doing some incline bench press, aim for about 8 reps x 3 sets every chest work out. Start with that, then add in 2 or 2 more exercises. You'll see some good gain. Karma please.

thanks for all the good words guys.

about the bulking, are we talking clean or what?

some guys say, eat everything, others say, eat healthy

when you want to bulk, definitely go clean. Other wise you will learn the hard way that toning down is a bitch!
Eat a lot of meat, I mean atleast a pound of meat a day, and tons of green veggies, and beans(high fiber) to make sure you are shitting correctly.

nice arms SR. keep at it. you have a great attitude and are willing to ask and learn things. a few more years you will be huge. :)
