My first reaction was to panic. Then, after a few seconds of sheer terror, I thought to myself, "Well, let's hear this guy out before we jump to any rash conclusions." It ends up he was able to carry on a conversation and even verify his contract, so I'm now thinking he was, in fact, there or at the very least somewhere that he could hear me. We never actually addressed his original statement since I wasn't sure what the proper social etiquette regarding that type of thing is generally accepted to be. Maybe I should just call him back and say, "It's me. Remember? We had that great 30 second conversation about your natural gas contract. You told me you weren't there. Well, I'm just calling back to get a handshake on that contract you agreed to." It might just be interesting to see how he reacts. He'll probably shake my hand and I want to see how he does it. I wonder if he speaks Hebrew. I don't, but he doesn't have to know that.
