or had a disagreement with someone, you leave their office/house/etc. and they lock the door behind you?

it says the same thing. you arent welcome anymore.

does spatts' account take up that much space on this "ginormous" server? i doubt it. (though she had alot of earned karma)

its the symbolism of that action that speaks more words than most would like to think.

I wasn't soley referring to Spatts - but you have valid points.

Spatts has earned more here than anyone will ever be able to give back.


I've also lived in some questionable parts of the city so I take no offense to someone trying to protect themselves.

Being banned says to me, "you're not wanted here." It takes away that persons choice to stay or go willingly. Perhaps, in the interest of keeping the boards "clean" from these types of posts, I see what you're saying. Otherwise, banning someone is definitely sending a message.

I buy it...I suspect that Rick doesn't have a lot of experience working with vBulletin, and it wouldn't be hard to do something like that wrong.
