Snacky snacks

I need some suggestions for better snacks and things. I'm on the go all day between school work and the gym, and my meal times aren't always that regular, but I manage to get my meals in. I find myself eating several meals though when I am home for the night, or just compulsively snacking on shit. What are some good muscle friendly snack foods that I can chow without worrying about turning into a lard ass?
 
Lately I have been eating Full fat Greek yogurt mixed with a scoop of whey, and sugar free raspberry preserves. One cup of the yogurt, one scoop of whey and 2 tablespoons of the preserves is around 23g of fat, 25g of CHO, and 40g of protein and 400 calories. I call this Bodybuilder Yogurt lol. It's not too bad of a snack, especially if you are on the bulk tip. I usually eat this earlier in the day.

I just re read your post. If you snack later in the evening I would replace the Greek Yogurt with 2% cottage cheese. This is equally as good imo.

yup...I always eat cottage cheese before I go to bed.


After workouts I like to eat turkey and cottage cheese as well.

I used to hate cottage cheese...so bad I would gag when I ate it, but after awhile you start to like it.

I know what you mean. I used to have a killer gag reflex for CC. Now I can eat half a tub in one sitting like it is nothing. I too eat it every night prior to bed.

yeah...and here locally the kind I normally buy only comes in small tubs, So I had to switch to a different brand and it occasionally has GIGANTIC curds in it, which really made me friggin' gag.

But now I actually crave it. Weird...I guess CC is an aquired taste.

Yes Cottage Cheese before bed is great. Cottage Cheese is very rich in Casein protein which is very slow digesting. The idea is to eat it before bed and it will supply your body with amino acids while you sleep. Add some healthy fats like fish or flax oil and it will even further slow the digestion.
