Skateshoes okay for occasional treadmill use?

I jog on the treadmill about 3x's a week for 30 minutes at a pace between 3-8 mph. I use my Airwalk or DC skateboarding shoes for this type of cardio. However, I see alot of other people using jogging/running specific shoes. Should I pick up a pair of jogging shoes for use on the treadmill? I don't have any kind of joint pain when using my skate shoes. Just want to be sure, though.

it's decent, I was doing about 5-6 hours of cardio a week in skate shoes, the only place it started to hurt was in my ankle because there isn't really much ankle support in skate shoes.

I got some adidas boston classics now, it makes running on the treadmill easier and more enjoyable, just my two cents. =)

you don't have any pain, *yet*. I suppose its ok for a temporary fix, but you should use proper equipment.

running shoes will elevate your heel and make the forward stride easier. Skate shoes work, but if you are running hard the proper shoes make a difference.

You're asking for an injury, long term. Go to a running store that does stride analysis (or gait analysis) to fit you properly for running shoes.
