Hoss, obviously if I'd known I could turn them off, I wouldn't have posted what I did. Learn from Iron Game's posts how you can be informative without being insulting.
As GS said in his announcement, the main issue is the great sucking noise as bandwidth is eaten up -- that's unaffected by individual users turning them on or off.
