Shoulder surgery in 4 weeks

I have to have my cartalidge reattached to my shoulder bone in the rear and the front cartalidge needs to be cleaned up. They are also going to take a hair dryer to my ligaments and tendons in the rear to prevent the shoulder from dislocating to the rear.

This is all done orthoscopically in about 90 minutes. Will take 6 weeks to regain complete use and about 3-6 months for full unrestricted use.

Damned thing hurts like hell now. Just have to wait till after my pft first of November.

Hiding this one from the military. What they don't know won't hurt me.!

I am now. Was active for five years. I switched to the Army since the Marines had no cool jobs out where I am. Just a bunch of gas station attendants. I am an MP now on orders for 60 days. Hopefully many more to come (days on orders)

i had a buddy go army reserves when he got off active marines.

i get out of marine reserves in november after the ball. if i stay in i will switch to army reserves. better jobs and benefits.

are you at NAS FW???

Well the benifits are the same, and I suppose it would be where you live that would determine the type of jobs available.

They do things much differently and it is hard to get used to.

I am somewhere. Can't say though. But if I had known I would have been in the MP's with the Marines had I known they would have let me travel to the station. Oh well, live and learn. Always a Marine.

My advice though would be to stay in and stick out for your 20!

my buddy said they are a bunch of bag nasties. its alright though every branch is different.

good luck on the surgery.

I can't wait! Sucks having pain so bad you can't sleep at night.

Good luck Chesty. Shoulder injuries blow big chunks.

Thanks Bmom and all. I have to hide it or the military will want this evaluation, that evaluation, they won't let me go to my schoools until they are convinced I am whole, etc. It is much easier not to tell them. It wasn't hurt on duty so it is none of their business.

Good luck on your surgery. I'm going in Friday for surgery on my shoulder, for the second time within a year. :(
