Sesamin / Sesanthin -- OH NOOO!!!!

Sesamin?

From AvantLabs

"have been waiting on sesamin to become commercially available for over 2 years, so now that it is, expect to see it in several products, as the data on it is truly remarkable. It is 10-fold MORE potent than fish oils in the modulation of PPAR-alpha inducible fatty acid oxidation genes, such as CPT1, pyruvate-dehydrogenase kinase, and UCP3 (, )

Of even more interest, sesamin inhibits expression of lipogenic enzymes, whose activity have been found to be independent of PPAR-alpha, such as FAS, SREBP-1, ATP-citrate lyase, and Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (, ). Such anti-lipogenic activity would, however, be expected from antagonism of the dreaded PPAR-gamma (, , )

And, as would be expected from its activity on these enzymes, sesamin provokes a strong increase in beta oxidation of fatty acids and decreases lipogenesis/TG formation. IOW, this is good shit.
"

I belive instynct is (will be?) selling this. Opinions?

oh man this is great news, i tried in vain getting this a while back. sesamin is awesome stuff, particularly for blood pressure. will avant labs be carrying this? bro do you know who else will be carrying this?

Avant only has it in one of their topicals along with a boatload of other stuff so they arent a great source for it., As far as I know Instynct is either carrying it now, or will be soon but I havent been over to Animal's board in a long time.

Any chance AF might start carrying this? (Seems like it's too cost prohibitive to do so though)

R-ALA + Sesamin sounds amazing

my interest is strictly from a cardiovascular-protective perspective. i think sesamin + nattokinase would be amazing.

but since i use r-ala for cv protection too, i also like the sound of what you've proposed! :)

I originally wanted it for fat loss but since my DNP incident has left with me with what seems like long-lasting heart problems it has certianly perked my interest as well.

Apparently one can freeze seasame oil and the resulting crystals are sesamin but that doesnt seem very applicable given dosing guidlines, purity, etc.

That study you posted just makes me want it even worse now! :D :)

Thanks for the offer of taking it offline :) but I mentioned it in the DNP ICU thread so I'll mention it here.

The epinepherine given to me to alleviate the DNP allergy swelling caused what they termed a heart attack (apparently 1 in every 9 will react this way to epinepherine) and was later diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.

:( Sucks but at least there are treatment options.

i'm sorry bro, i only read the first few posts on that thread and then haven't had the chance to get back to it. i'll go through it all and if you don't mind get back to you with some thoughts that i know i'm going to have.
