Separated Bicep...

This really sucks...

Yesterday I was lifting a full size television and I must have twisted wrong when I heard/felt a "POP" in my left arm. I set the TV down and noticed my bicep "shortened" and deformed. I was certain I had torn the bicep from the elbow/tendon. Went to see the doc and he confirmed. I'll be seeing an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow about my options.

Talk about depressing...fuck.

36" tube style tv. I've moved it before but I must've just twisted wrong when the injury occurred. This is really going to fuck up a lot of plans not to mention that I can't lift for God knows how long. I've been fighting w/ a slight bit of depression and this doesn't help matters in the least. I hope I can get this repaired so I can lift again soon.

You will get it repaired and you will lift again. No doubt about it. I think Traz went through something similar (not sure if it was a bicep or pec) and he's like the Arm Wrestling champion of the world.

Get it taken care of and you will be back at it in no time bro...minor setback, as much as it sucks!

Thanks for the support folks, it really helps. I'm trying to remain "upbeat" and hopeful about this and I'm hoping the surgeon doesn't say something like "You can live a normal life without the repair" as I witnessed a friend experience a few years back. I explained to the doc yesterday that exercise/fitness is a large part of my life and I need to have this repaired. He told me to explain that to the surgeon when I see him tomorrow. **crosses fingers**

I think SB had it too, I tecall a bruised up bicep, you should recover fine but have to be patient, push urself too hard and you'll go back to square one, explore lower body workouts and cardio too

Had the surgery last night. It went well. doc said it was completely torn off (I pretty much knew that). Anyway, he said I should fully recover...but NO LIFTING FOR 3 MONTHS!!!...ugh.

Guess I'll focus on cardio, diet, and maybe entertain a cutting cycle.

Listen to the doc and dont lift for at least 3 months trust me

I won't. My wife was there to hear the warning and shot me a glance 'cuz she knows that I can be somewhat...umm..."overzealous" when it comes to lifting...LOL!

Wouldn't be surprised if she changes the door lock to the home gym and hides the key. LOL

Nice weakened tendons due to AAS abuse life, loser.

j/k bro I know what it's like when people don't understand that an orthopedic injury is a big deal to someone for whom going to the gym is a serious lifestyle.

Im sure it seems drastic for a gym rat like yourself, but 3 months isnt all that bad. Glad it went well

3 months isnt hard at all rob
I typically quit working out for 3 or more months all the time

Just man up and shoot some test in there.

We need suggestions for his post surgery recovery roid cycle that he is required by EF to take.

I say tren/slin/abombs/cheque drops/DNP stack would work wonders for recovery.

That really hits home. 99% of all injuries I've had, are from lifting TVs when I was in the TV repair business. They're just awkward, and no matter how careful you are, something is off-balance and you pull or tear tendons & muscles.

Keep a good attitude about the repair & recovery, and remember that today all you need to be concerned with is recovering, and you will have other days to concentrate on getting back up to lifting. I'd be discouraged too, but try to keep it that way and not let it go to depression and negative attitude.

Damn bro... I'm really sorry to hear about that... wishing you a speedy and painless recovery. I know it must be very depressing.

So yesterday I found out I am probably going to need a biceps tenodesis just because my biceps tendon is diseased, has a cyst, and hurts like heck.

This is effectively the same thing as when the tendon ruptures and you need it reattached, only in this case they cut it on purpose and reattach it.

For me though, if this means relief from the pain, I'm all for it, cos it's not like I've been able to lift anything with that shoulder for about the past year.

obviously he needs gh/slin/test/decca and hydros throughout followed by a dbol bridge leading into a dnp cutter, if he want's any chance at a decent recovery.

simple dave i know about setbacks, i had a anal rebuild that took me out of the game for some time, you come back stronger and hungrier (not lying about the rebuild it sucked)

Was it a full prolapsed blowout bro?

What the fuck is a anal rebuild rob?

How did pooping go after the surgery? Especially since opiates cause constipation. I barely deuced for a week after my wrist surgery.

dude it was sever rough, i went 5-6 days with no duecing...and i had to go even hydro'ed out, i was scared of the pain.
so i just layed around, if i stood up and did shit i'd have to dueceage.
finally it got unbearable i was really hurting...took my shirt off, clinhed it tightly, sweat beaded on my brow, and gave birth

Ouch!!! Glad you're OK now...man that must've sucked ass (no pun intended).

Doing OK, I'm out of the splint now and have good motion/mobility. A little "achey" and "tight" but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good. I've been getting a lot of running in that's for sure.

Jesus fuck rob I dont think ive ever heard of a more horrendous scene.

Can my cadaver anus withstand the looming deuce?

Yeah, it tore at the elbow. They drilled through the ulna, pulled the ligament through the hole, attached a titanium "button" on the other side, and sutured me back up. :)

Will you be as strong as before or after an injury like this are you fucked for life?

Well, the surgeon stated that if I follow through w/ physical therapy and be careful I should see a full recovery. I've been going into the gym to do cardio and lower body routines and ran across a retired firefighter who had the same procedure 15 years ago who told me that he was as strong as ever after healing. Something to make me hopeful for sure. I've already lost 10 lbs since the injury though...that sux.
