o yeah just found this too and it popped into my head, is it ok to just go outside sprint about 75 yards or so, walk back, sprint again, walk back, and keep repeating for about 20 min? or is on a treadmill doing 1 min intense, 1 min moderate job, repeat better?
 
For (almost) every blanket statement like that, you'll find someone who'll contradict it. The only way to know is to try both.
