For those of you that are "home and bored" or whatever, take a look at my day....
Woke up late. Was supposed to be up at 5:30 but didn't get up until 6:30.
Didn't get out the door until 7:30, and the drive I had has hit 3 hours with traffic. I got kinda pissy with my neighbor's friend as he was asking me if I needed help tying my tie and I was saying "no and I HAVE to go" and he kept asking me if I needed help. I kinda suck at tying a tie.
2 hours and 15 minutes later, including a 10 minute stop for coffee and breakfast sandwiches, we were at the funeral home. Viewing was supposed to start at 10, we were there at maybe 9:40, not quite sure because the clock in my car is about 10 minutes fast and at that point I was just glad I made it there before 10 to pay the bill and go over some final things.
Sometime just after 10, my "mother" shows up, late. Had to deal with her trying to get sympathy from everyone and no one was giving it to her.
11am - we carried my grandmother out of the funeral home and into the hearse.
12pm or around then - middle of the funeral mass, my mother gets up and walks out. We assumed she was going to the bathroom. She went outside TO SMOKE A FUCKING CIGARETTE!
After the funeral mass - my mother and her husband FALL ASLEEP IN THE FUCKING LIMO ON THE WAY TO THE CEMETARY. We were in the limo for maybe 20 minutes, I'll say 25 MAX.
Close to 2pm - luncheon. Hardly anyone showed up that was at the cemetary because of my mother.
After the luncheon we drove home, which took over 2 hours.
Got home, havn't eaten since this afternoon, been drinking, maybe my 4th or 5th beer. I need to eat something soon. Oh yeah, I'm flat ass fucking broke from all the driving I've done this week and tomorrow I'll probably spend $100 or more in gas getting to and from the assisted living home my grandmother was in for just over a year. I need to clear out her stuff so I borrowed my neighbor's truck for tomorrow and it's a gas pig.
So if you are bored at home tonight, I'm about 100% positive your day has been better than mine. Drink a beer and be happy.
