I have student loans as well as grants. And if you took the time to actually read my other post you will see that I stated that I work 60 hours most weeks to avoid being on givernment assistance like food stamps and welfare. I support two kids without the benefit of child support. If I have any hope to send both son's to college (and both of my kids are honnor students and deserve to go to college), then these grants are necessary.

And these grants aren't free money so you can fyck around in school like a regular college kid. I have to enroll and be one class short of a full time student and the money isn't for living expenses. So don't think it's a picnic.

This country will be far ahead if we give the best kids the opportunity to study, instead of just the rich kids.
Look at Bush and Romney. I'm not too impressed with the rich kids. I think our greatest treasure is our outstanding kids from every economic level, and we would be no better than a third world country if we ignored their talent because they are not part of the elite class.

The wealthy do a lot more for you than you think. Everyone thinks the wealthy are all just crooks and got that way by screwing other people. They fund our whole country pretty much. Oh! I forgot to ask, how many illegal immigrants are here thy aret paying taxes and are also getting tax paid school and medical care for free? Oh ya, I think it's over 3 million people that are not payin taxes and that doesn't include a single American citizen. Add that up.

That was the point of my original post. I meet many women and men like me just trying to make a better life for thier kids.

And I did not mean to imply that I felt most on social services were drug addicts. I just think that if we have to be subject to drug tests for a job the same standard should be held for anyone accepting government help.
