Roid rage

I wouldn't call what I get roid rage, I just get less tolerant to stupid people, especially at work, and instead of not saying anything I make sure to let them know how I feel.

good question bro!!!

some folks can be very intelligent and very emotionally immature.

at a certain point in every mans life, he must gain control over his

primitive defenses. those that don't, typically wind up incarcerated

and living in trailer parks.

good point, as ive grown older i feel that fighting isnt always the answer anymore

I am a calm person by the nature, but I definitely can't deny that roids increase self-esteem in considerable amounts. And most of the times they increase anger at least sligthly ,too. But this is a good thing unless you are f***ed up to begin with

I also have to disagree with the anger/rage being a result of high estrogen. High estrogen makes you a weepy bitch, like a girl PMS. High androgens make you an angry asshole. That's basically what an androgen is: a man-making, aggressive strong primal instinct.

Just before a woman's period, all her hormones are dropping off, it is more like you lads coming off a cycle with no PCT.

Someone mentioned pain, I think that this is a major cause of anger, and a physiological one.

I have had a few major injuries, and loads of niggling persistent injuries (bodybuilding of course mostly), and I notice how annoyed I get at funny things like loud noises and sounds, which normally never bother me.

Our brains are really three brains in our head, each based on a previous evolutionary development, so there is the inner reptilian brain which controls the whole fight, flight or freeze response, the ???? sorry have to look it up, it is like the paleolithic brain, which rules the emotions, and the outer cerebral cortex, most recently evolved, which controls higher cognitive processes.

It has always been thought that the outer thinking brain dominates over the more primitive aspects of our brain, not so, in fact it is the opposite way.

The fight, flight or freeze response is much faster, and it will dominate all other responses, similarly for emotions, they will dominate unless you stop to think logically.

Mostly all that is needed for the thinking part of the brain to catch up is a wee bit of time, so there really is something to that old wives tale about counting to ten.

Also, of course hormones are going to effect your thought processes and emotions (all emotions arise from the amygdala in the brain).

I will have to double check on this with my neurology scientist buddy if anyone is interested, but I am sure he told me that there are receptors/enzymes that hydrolyse test to DHT in the brain.
