Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Swayze’s publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old “Dirty Dancing” actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments.

It was 1987 when Swayze became a star with his performance in “Dirty Dancing,” a coming-of-age story set in a Catskills resort. The 1990 film “Ghost” cemented his status as a screen favorite.

Swayze played a murdered man trying to communicate with his fiancee through a spirit played by Whoopi Goldberg.

He kept on working even after it was disclosed in March 2008 that he had a particularly deadly form of cancer. He starred in “The Beast,” an A&E drama series, and said he and his wife were working on a memoir.

I just saw that on the news. So sad! He suffered too damn much and you could see the struggle in his looks. glad he is no longer suffering.

How true.... sad to say but as sad it is that he passed and my thoughts are with his family... they KNEW his time here was limited. I remember a few years ago when that earthquake hit China and an ENTIRE school was gone... almost every child died. These parents lost EVERYTHING.... my heart breaks for them...

You know instead of expressing how puerile you may think my condolences are for an individual, why don't you make a thread about your indignation over what people choose to qualify as grievable. Better yet, why not make a fundraising video for peeps of these catastrophes. Glad can help you out with a kalimba backbeat.

I wasnt expressing anything towards you directly. I loved Dirty Dancing. Great memories of my teen years. As far as that last sentence? I dont know what the fuck your talking about?

I mean, hey, fuck the Chinamen. Like I could really care either

i think "nobody cares" about the earthquakes and floods is an overstatement. maybe you meant "nobody cares to your satisfaction"?
 
I cared more about Patrick Swayzey and Michael Jackson than flood victims. There just a passing thought. Swayzey and Jackson reminds me of great times in my life.

My Earthquake analogy is just to provoke thought. Nothing more.

Im not indignant toward anyone. I dont expect much from people.

Even I get this one. She's suggesting that Gladiola1987 can provide a musical backing for your televised plea for charity. "Glad can help you out with a kalimba backbeat." Kalimba is an African thumb piano instrument, which Gladiola could simulate on his keyboard.
