Rice more than twice a week??/

Reading in Muscle and Fitness for Her -" rice no more than twice a week for carbs"
Why??????
Is it a startch thing or what??
It is easy to make for me at work with instant rice - is this a good thing or not??

I never heard of such but if there is a problem with rice I would think that it would be more related to quantity as aposed to frequency.
 
i've heard this same thing about rice, all i remember is that bodybuilders should stay away from white rice because it's a very refined carb, which means it'll smooth you out real fast esp. if you tend to gain weight easily on a high carb diet.
 
Brown rice hasn't had the fiber or the B vitamins washed away, like white rice. Instant rice, while artifically enriched, (chemicals sprayed on like breakfast cereals) isn't the best carb choice around.
