Resumed lifting in last 6months, Why Does My Shoulder BURN on bench days?

hey all, hows it goin, i resumed my lifting after a long break about 6 months back. im on no juice or anything but when I do bench days sometimes either shoulder will burn so bad it feels like i need to pull it back into sockett or somthing, its deff. a burning sensation, not a sharp pain. i think it has moved from my right to my left back to my right again so it could possibly be tendonitis or somthing? thats my only guess but dunno. what can I do to treat my diagnosis, reason for concern? thanks!

Could be a tendon, could be lactic acid build up , could be that you're getting a good pump - way too many factors IMO.

my delts are always sore after i train chest. it's my set up, i believe. try setting up differently, you just might be a delt bencher.

its an excruciating pain tho, i couldnt finish a set of side latteral raises today after bench/incline/decline because it hurt so bad.

acromio-clavicular injury is very common. External feature is a prominent distal clavicular inflamation.

If the far end of your collar bone is the source of the burn, and especially if the pain stops with application of pressure, it is a common injury, sometimes refered to as "weightlifters shoulder".

You need lots of time for that to heal properly, and in the meantime there is basically no remedial action to continue training without exaggerating the time it takes to heal. first is to tape the clavicle down during times of physical activity. second is to introduce heat therapy to increase blood flow to the injured tendons of the A-C joint. third is to take NSAIDS for pain.

As long as you are training with usual intensity, it will not get better. You can only begin to bear the pain and suffer on with it. The time spent resting and training with extrodinarily low weights is the only way this will actually ever get better. Lots of bodybuilders and weightlifters live their whole careers with this injury, determined to press past it, but all the while it will effect training negatively, and it is always best to heal.

yo my delts kill after chest....they even hurt when i sleep...

IMO its just means ur doin something rite. keep workin hard no pain no gain ( to a point )

Sounds to me like weak rotator cuff...probably supraspinatus (SP?) Do you do external rotator exercises? Actually you should do inerternal as well. It can increase your bench by up to 10% if you get them strong...there and I do not often answer training questions anymore.....not sure why...burn out.
