Out of 10...How much effort to you put into your body(in terms of diet/training/rest) every day?

And what has your progress been like since you started taking it as seriously as you currently do?

9 out of 10. Progress? 5 years ago I was 35% bodyfat at 240 lbs. Now I am 220 at 9% (5'9") 19" arms, 18.5" calves, 52" chest,32" waist, 29.5" thighs. I've benched 455 for 3, do hack squats with 22 plates, stiff leg deads with 425 etc etc.

So I've made a bit of progress.

Damn BBF there is something stuck on you....Oh shit thats you...Lol

Im just bustn your balls but it was funny....:)

well i don't lift weights for looks (thank goodness) but its the first thing i do every morning at 5am.
i don't get enough protein though, or sleep so effort- i get a 5
progress... i could barely bench the bar when i started and now i'm at 170 raw/205 in a shirt... so i'm giving myself a 7.

No matter how much effort I put in; I can always put in more.

Hince my 9. Other bodybuilders who know me say I train like an animal, my workouts are sick, that they couldn't handle my diet etc, however as you said you can ALWAYS put more effort into it, so I won't give myself a 10.

hmmm, I would say a 2/10, for some reason I really lack motivation right now.

what its gotten me? I gained a lil bit of fat since the beginning of the year. Maybe a pound or two.

C'mon ...lets have some more replies. A lot of you only answered half the question.

In the last few months my efforts probably been about 3/10 and it's caused me to actually lose weight (I'm trying to gain not lose). Anyway starting yesterday i'mgonna try and put in at least a 7/10 every day.

6/10

Pretty decent diet, train hard & pretty often and i just plain care about my body - not enough people do these days.

The Marine Corps instills a pretty strict work ethic in terms of taking care of your body!

10" :p

maybe a 7?
i get stressed at work an dtha tcauses me to miss probably 3 meals a week

but less than 4 years ago i was 170# at 5-11 around 18%bf
now i'm 210# around 12%

Diet and exercise : 9 out of 10.

I always keep a clean diet (except for the occasional planned cheat day) and I exercise faithfully.

The only reason I am not 10 out of 10 is because sometimes I feel as though I can push myself harder during my workouts AND I think that I should plan Even Better for my food intake during the day.

diet/exercise id give a 7, because my diet has been shitty ever since i ran out of protein powder a few weeks ago (i buy in 25kg bags of WPI, so it takes a bit of time to organise) but my workouts are some of the most intense in the gym, no problem

as per my progress, well, being natural, you dont get anywhere fast, BUT 9 or so months ago i decided to drop bodyfat...so i went from 26-28% bf down to 10-12 without losing muscle mass. so yeah, progress has been good. im a bit stuck now, though. might have to give this whole roid business a try...

cant compare workout intensity to others in the gym
at least all of the gyms i have been too
most people are there to make an apperance, few actually do any work
i have had people tell me i have insane workouts, but i often feel like i could have done more....

Map out your diet and routine, and some of us will take a look at it, if you wish to continue to try and make progress naturally.

I was benching 315 and doing deep squats with 405, both for reps, at a bodyweight of 200 lbs as a natty, with only a year of training under my belt, so its not impossible to get reasonably big, strong and lean as a natty.

thanks bbf :)
let me organise my diet so that i dont hit you guys with the usual "had a ham sandwich and a bowl of pasta" useless dietbreakdown, get it into a decent C/P/F form, and ill take you up on that :)

Right, knowing the calories and micronutrient breakdown makes it much easier to work with. LoL

Break down your training split also.
