Radar detectors n jammers

So when i was in vegas this week i had a radar detector installed in my car for the drive home, its a escort 9500 spose to be the best out... It was like 700.00 after all said n done so ya... Anyways i drove to LA and on the way it picked up radars a mile or so before we saw the pigs, was pretty cool... But i wasnt going to be over confident n jus spped care free, im always n my mirriors n drive safe but after LA i slept in the back n my friend drove... So i hear the detector go off i get up n look back an ya were getting pulled over, he lazered us at 96mph.. I guess with lazers if u detect it, its to late they got u

be careful with anything that is a "jammer" as there can be legal problems with them depending on where you live.

the escort 9500 doesn't pick up all types of lasers (LIDAR) so that might be why you got a ticket.. the new lasers are pretty much impossible to pick up.

I wonder if those will pick up the speed camera radar (or laser)? They just put one of those on Plano Parkway (North Dallas) in a school zone, and I sometimes don't know if it's technically school zone time or not. Also they have speed cameras hidden in SUVs parked on highways throughout Arizona. I got a ticket from one of those, but luckily I got out of it because the truck was registered to my wife, and she filled out the the protest form saying (my name) was driving, and she didn't give them anything other than my first & last names. Common Irish name, so they never bothered with it. I was only going 11mph over the limit anyway, in perfect weather in the middle of the afternoon with no traffic.

not going to go speeding around becouse i have a radar detector but it does signal me when radars in use.... Also im in nor cal not that makes a diff... Again, DOES LAZER WORK FROM A MOVING COP CAR?
Im thinking maybe we got lazered when he was parked and then radared us right before he hit his lights to confirm the speed.

i believe you need to be stationary to gun with a laser, i'm not positive on that. the newest lasers aren't even detectable until you are nailed, so maybe they can gun you from a moving vehicle now.

I'd think the speed of the police car wouldn't matter. It's all relative anyway, so you could easily add the police car's speed to the measurement.

My friends a motorcycle cop - "radar detectors have been useless for years". Unless you're dirving in some hickbilly redneck place where the cops are stil using old cheap equipment.

The new lasers/equip are bad-ass and impossible to detect. Anyone who buys a "radar detector" in a city is a fool. He laughs when he pulls over someone and they got one. In his head he's like "OWNED!"

Actually a friend of mines a chp and recomended that exact radar detector, he told me he uses both radar and lazar, i havent talked to him since we got pulled over but i cant wait to ask him these questions... The sales guy who sold the detector said they have to be parked to lazer buy ya wtf does he know lol they jus wana sell somthing...

I own a BEL 745i detector and works very well for me, has saved me from many many speeding tickets and $$$. I love it when I slow down after the radar goes off and these idiots go right pass me and get pulled over.
I'm always speeding so i will always invest on these gadgets, way cheaper than traffic tickets, court cost and insurance hikes.
