QV Deca -- I think I've gotten an abscess

I'm going to see my family doctor today about this rather large red, puffy, itchy spot on the top of my buttocks. I have a feeling he's going to say it's becoming an abscess and probably just give me some anti-biotics. (By the way, my family doctor is also the one who is giving me the shots, at his home; because he offered to make sure their done correctly)

The only thing I have shot in that area is QV Deca 300, and I've had two shots in the past two weeks.

Of course I'm going to ask him the same question, but do you think I should continue using the QV Deca, but maybe in a different location? I'd hate to have both sides of my arse puffy, but I'd also like to continue my cycle.

I've read posts about people sterilizing their gear in/on the oven and in the microwave, do you think this may be necessary to help make sure the QV Deca is sterile?

I'd like to hear some opinions from the more experienced...

Thanks

When I use prop I always get a little red and the area is swollen. I don't think that I would panic yet. Do you feel like you have a fever? Nauseous? That's cool that you can go to your doc and I agree with your choice to go, but your body may just be having a reaction to it and it might not happen again.

No fever and not nauseous. Really doesn't bother me much other than being a little itchy and just knowing it's there is a bit bothersome.

The spot is about 6 inches long and 2 inches tall.

I just asked the GF "would you say it looked like a bruise?" and she responded "it looks like a big red welp!" To give you a better idea of what it looks like.

If it's itching you're definitely having a reaction to it. Again I don't think it's anything to panic about, but going to the doc doesn't hurt.

Make sure and wipe your butt with rubbing alcohol before the shot and after. I always wipe the top of the bottle also before drawing.

I've used QV300 deca on two different cycles so far, no problems. (knock on wood).

I agree. Here's the rules of injecting:

1. Use a drawing pin to draw out the AAS and then change the needle by putting a fresh NEW STERILE needle to inject with. NEVER SHOOT YOURSELF WITH THE SAME PIN THAT YOU USE TO DRAW WITH.

2. Put the drawing needle back where you keep your gear. This keeps you from mixing it up with the needle that you used to inject with.

3. Always wipe off the top of the bottle BEFORE AND AFTER drawing with Alcohol to ensure sterility.

4. Use alcohol to disinfect the area where you will be shooting BEFORE AND AFTER the injection is done.

5. Once the injection is done take the "dirty" needle and discard it in a safe place.

It always amazes me how some people handle their injections and gear. Sterility is very important.

if it is an abcess may be a little more complicated than just giving you antibiotics. he will cut open your skin with a scalpel and literally squeeze out the pus. he will probably shoot with lidacaine first to numb it. this may hurt but the relief will be instant. he will prescribe antibiotics after the procedure to prevent further infection.

All of the above is done with the exception of number 3. (although, I didn't see this step done myself, it may of been)

The Doc said it looks like it may be just an allergic reaction, so you were very right Makavelli. He did prescribe me Cephalexin -- 1 cap 3 times a day. He said we'll shoot in the another spot next time and all should be fine.

Thanks for all of your opinions. Very much appreciated.
