I thought I read a Supreme Court decision that said that people aren't required to sign citations. They are just as valid with or without a signature.

Let's say for example the cops pull over Apu Nahasamonpenia who doesn't read or understand English too well. Maybe Apu doesn't want to sign something he doesn't understand and wants to seek legal council. Shouldn't he have the right to do so? The cop explaining what the suspect is signing is meaningless. Our legal system has routinely upheld police tacticts allowing cops to lie to suspects to obtain a confession. If cops can lie to you, why should a citizen be required to sign a legal document that the cops are telling them to sign?

(1) the cop was pretty clear with instructions.
(2) if her signature is not an admission of guilt, then what is the difference if she signed it or not?
(3) How does the cop feel?

So, how was work today? Well, I tasered an 8 months pregnant woman after she wouldn't sign a speeding ticket. I had to force her out of the car.
