17-17.5" when I flex it back... I just started hitting my neck again HEAVY as fuck so itll be a lot bigger in a few months... Just gimme some time boys...
What exercises preferentially (or at all) hit the neck? The only one I can think of is lying down on a bench and having your training partner put a towel or your head and apply resistance as you push with your head for reps. I don't do this due to the fact that it looks bizarre. The only thing I do for neck is raise my chin during barbell shrugs and try to pull my shoulders back (not sure if I described it right). Deads have also made my neck sore, though rarely. Anyone got any good tips?
New York24, just lie on a bench with you head hanging off and lay a plate on your forehead and then move your head up and let it back down again. For the back of your neck you can either flip over on your stomach or kneel down in front of a hamstring machine and rest the pad on the back of your head and pick your head up. Thats what I did in my old gym where we didnt have a neck machine.
Yeah lying on a bench with your head over the edge and a towel folded over your face and the weight on top of the towel is good but I prefer the neck-strap that you wear on your head and hang weights from the chain. It feels like it only hits the back of your neck but it really hits the sides real hard too. Its helped me thicken up my neck A LOT. You can buy them from Champs for like $20 I think.
