Poked and aspirated dark red blood.

pompste

New member
Hi,
Poked in upper outer glute, aspirated some dark red blood and withdrew, then changed to a new needle and chose a different spot around the same area---2nd inject was clean.
First time i ever aspirated blood.I always thought the upper outer glute was basically free of any veins/arteries but apparently not.
I don`t know if i hit a vein or an artery----but i was concerned at first.
I did`nt want to waste the gear so i injected the blood and gear into the second site, figuring i`m just putting my own blood back into my body.
Just wondering if i did anything wrong.
Thanks for any info

a little blood will never hurt. just make sure you dont inject air... i believe 3 ccs of air injected can kill you

3cc of air will not kill you esp injecting into a muscle

Even in a vein it will take a lot more than 3cc's to cause any problems

You got to be brain dead to inject 3ccs'

I thought 1/2 a cc can kill you..lol

I always make sure there is not the slightest of bubbles there.

IM a little wont hurt, but i hate to doubt radar, but i've been told that 3cc's directly into a vein would be pretty disatrous by a dr...

i've only had that happen once, and i injected the whole thing into a new spot too, the blood balled up and made the injection hard to do, but i finally got it all in

We had a member a few yrs ago geoffgarst who was a cardio infusionist he said often they would inject 5 ccs of air into the bloodstream and monitor for any abnomalities.
The dude knew his stuff!

Back to the original poster, you did well by aspirating. You can never be safe enough.
