Um, curling, why would he be getting a price on calipers if he doesn't know what the problem is yet? Anyone with any mechanical know-how knows that you find and isolate the problem, THEN take care of the problem. Randomly buying parts |= fixing the problem.
OK. So I am taking the calipers off tonight. I did notice after visual inspection of the brake lever and master cylinder that there were two leads hanging there not connected to the unit. What are these and why were they disconnected?
I inspected my brake pads and some small gouges were present at the top inner portion of the left hand disc brake. Which also seems to be the side that is sticking.
My plan of action is as follows. I am going to remove the calipers and push the pistons back in with a piece of wood to see if the fluid level in the reservoir goes back up.
If it rises, then word is that it is less likely that it is a mastyer cylinder problem.
I'll have to check the dust seal and the piston seal to see if they are fucked. Hopefully I can just clean and rebuild the caliper without buying new ones.
Hopefully that is the issue because I would HATE to have to deal with the master cylinder.
P.S. I put on a new Micron high mount exhaust last night. Wahoo!!!
You make a point crak is just that I tried so many time to fix my brake problems and after fustration it fixed the problem when I replace all three parts. Like I said, brakes are just too important not to be sure that they are right.

For curiosity sake what would the two calipers, lines and master cyclinder run ya in dollars? And maybe just one caliper needs to be replaced not both.
the whole caliper assembly OEM is about $250 bucks. The lines I would do braided since they are off and are $100, the Master Cylinder & lever assembly is about $100.
