the whole caliper assembly OEM is about $250 bucks. The lines I would do braided since they are off and are $100, the Master Cylinder & lever assembly is about $100.

So we are talkin $700 here...

Well, what is the hospital bill going to be if you an unintentional endo at 100mph and remember you are going to have to replace your helmet too.

I'm sorry to put it like that but we are talking about your fronts here. It might not be that bad of a deal with the rears.

no, i agree with you but if I can get the rebuild kit (seals etc.) for the calipers, and a Master cylinder rebuild kit (65 bucks) I would MUCH rather do that then buy all new parts... I find it hard to believe that after 12K miles the bores in the caliper pistons would be so damaged that they need to be replaced.

you guys are the experts.... like I said Im gonna give it a shot tomorrow!!! :)

Patsfan, give an update when you go to work on the bike.

Also, the 2 wires hanging from the master cylinder area (did I read that right?) are most likely there to connect to the brake lever so when you start pulling, the brake lights come on. When I bought my F4, they forgot to plug in the wires on the clutch cable. I couldn't start the bike with it in gear because the signal wasn't being sent that I had the clutch pulled in. Didn't take me long to figure that one out though.

i went to the shop to order new pads, a speed bleeder and the pins that I lost, i had planned on doing EVERYTHING today during the rainstorm, but its on backorder until thursday.

Cycle place seems to blame air in the lines too.

What type of pads did you get? EBC I hope. They make some of the best out there. I think it's the HH Kit pads that have the most grip, but they're "not recommended for street use." I was reading one guy's account of putting the kit pads on. He said "hello 1 finger braking!"
