Patella torn tendon in the knee

Surgery is just a few hours away......

Doctor is claiming that with the knee brace on i could go back to work within a 3 week period.

Has anyone been thru this surgery anytime lately and what was the out-come ?????

He tells me the brace will be on for 6 weeks but by the 3rd week I should be able to work light.

My job has me on my feet all day long but that is it, No type of labor work or lifting of any kind.

Tks

Just don't push it and start lifting weights before you're cleared. The last thing you want is to re-rupture your tendon.

Personally went through that surgery 7 years ago. Honestly.... pretty brutal. I really took me a year to feel totally recovered and able to work out my legs hard. I was on crutches for 3 weeks and a brace for 6. Surgery was much worse than back surgery. Knee is great now and gives me little problems. First 2 - 3 day were brutal.

I had mine repaired 7 months ago, the first few weeks were rough (stairs sucked). It would feel good but I would push it too far in physical therapy and the it would get inflamed and set me back a week. Slow and steady was the route I had to take and now I am finally able hit the gym like it never happened.
