Ok so I just FedEx the last form needed for my husband to come, tomorrow I'll forward him a copy of my latest payment stub, Im supposed to send the equivalent of 3 months, i have 2 months and 3 weeks and a couple of days, I hope they dont get so damn technical, so Next week husband is taking the whole stuff to the embassy for the final appointment to get his ass here, I am SO FREAKING nervous Im like hyperventilating since I left the FedEx office :worried:

I bet all this separation, has kind of made your relationship, stronger in certain ways. It's weird, sometimes the long distance thing only creates a stronger bond, through absence. I know that's common sense, however, I can definitely vouch for that truth.

Are you a lil nervous, bout how he adjusts, and his next transition?
Anyway, happy for ya, Nan.

where the heck do you come up with this stuff?

Look, when you are with a person day in day out... some times you take them for granted.

However, when you are away from them. You start to Value, how much they mean to you. It's in their absence... that through the longing, you learn to appreciate the connection you have with that person. Relationship, through this 'transition/test' grows.

Mental, Emotional connection grows, flourishes. You find yourself working harder at closeness, you find yourself evaluating and recommitting to the long range goals of that relationship.

That's if there is enough merit, intent, fueling the connection. A successfull relationship is basically moving from me to we, and in a certain way, absence can redirect the strength, belief, and fuel of connection in a relationship.

LOL..
Yeah, true. Doubt, but I'm sure that shit happens.

Look, from a personal experience, I've been dogged for being 'cold' and distant, when I reunite with an S O.
There is some truth to this, for me that shit wears off within 24 hours, like jet lag, however, I'm pretty sure for other dude's that awkward, numb type shit may last longer.
no joke eitha.

I thought mail-order spouses were soooo 2000's.

P.S. Sounds like you are overpaying too.

lol@ the posts, Ariel is right it has helped a lot and some of the stuff that I have even seen him post in stuff like facebook is the kind of thing he had NEVER said to me, I always felt like he didnt consider us a family and that his family were mom, dad, siblings but now it's like it's really me and him, for the first time in almost 5 years we will truly be a family, I dont know if he cheated and if he did I just hope I never really find out :s but seeing he lives next to my sister, sold his car and always rides the bus (the latest bus will pass is 10pm LOL) Im pretty sure he's been good :p

I just sent him today's payment stub, now we wait for him to get the PPw on Monday and call the embassy for the appointment, I am SO scared, nervous of seeing him, things have changed, I changed my hair, I lost weight, Im like 3 shades darker, he's never lived here, was hear for a couple of days as a 9 year old.... I hope he likes it, all I know is things usually work the way they are supposed to here as opposed to CR where everything is always fucked up and you work hard to get day in day out and rarely actually have/own something nice....

Now you know what its like for all of us tracking our joos through customs.

Lol @ comparison with juice in customs

fill me in... why are you separated?
In order to move to the US I had to come first, get a job, prove I can support him by having 3 months worth of payment stubs, then he can come, so we havent seen each other in over 3 months because of immigration policies

Reviving this thread so I dont open another.....
Husband has THE yes or no appointment today at 12pm (2pm EST) I am SO SO SO nervous, I'm like shaking and hyperventilating when I think about it, I hope they dont say no, the only reason for them to say no is taxes, I've never declared taxes since I've never really worked or lives as an adult in the US, seems I had to declare anyway but I found an exception if you make less than $9K a year and I always made less AND was a student, but they may make me go to the IRS and prove it, I hope not.... *snap*

So.... they said no.... :(
They want to make an investigation because they think it's weird he's never tried to travel to the US before.... he traveled when he was nine and they say the visa seems active which is ridiculously impossible because he is 28! there is no such thing as 20 yr visa, so they want to investigate and now we will have to wait from 2 weeks to 2 months while they do that and there is NOTHING we can do..... :(

Sorry to hear that sista.... I'm sure it will all work out.. You've been married for 5 years, and are only now trying to get him into the states.. That'll look good. It's not like he married you last month and trying to come..

Prayers are w/ you my friend!

Sorry Nan - good luck in the future.

You can thank all these fuggers coming across with no visa for this.

On the positive side last night I had dinner with our family friend that helped me get here and stay with him and signed the lease to my apt because I had no background (he and his wife (ages 87 and 85) are VERY rich) he saw me all bumbed because he cant come yet and now it will take longer to get out of the apt and rent a house and build credit and he got mad at me not being able to buy a house for not having credit and he offered to buy it for me and have me pay him back :O

Sorry for your predicament.

Do you every consider moving back to CR? Just curious.

Not in a million years, I dont ever wanna go back unless I have to, MAYBE to retire but that's a good 40 years away.... buying a new house here is gonna anchor me even more, being in a tiny apt made me sad, hopefully I can find something soon, I've seen a couple of fixer uppers (nothing major to fix) at unbelievable prices (good location,4 bd, pool $42k)
