overtraining on cycle?

Yes it is. I did when I first started out which I think is common. I didn't listen to my body and got all kidsn of soreness and mentally wore out as well. Now I have learned from the vets on here and other boards what to do (am still learning by the way) and I realize I grow when I am sleeping. So I sleep alot. :)

ive posted on my last cycle before because it was the best results i had and the most well thought out cycle i did
i posted that my wife helped me eat more when i stopped gaining
well i was working 6 days a week on a loading dock and workin out when i got home 4 days a week
hard labor for 72 hrs a week took it out of me
so dropped one workout day and vola 15 lbs more before cycle ended
no doubt the job had me overtrained

Agree with the ACEMAN!! It"s not all about what we do in the gym but with our whole day that matters!!!
 
Can you train beyond your ability to recover from it session to session? Of course you can.

However, a little overtraining can be good for you and is usually called over-reaching, as pitbullrocco mentions. Many lifters flirt with overtraining deliberately to stimulate gains and growth.

Take a read on this link for an interesting discourse on dual-factor fatigue theory. Much of modern athletic training is based on it and some of you may recognise the underpinnings of Madcow's Bill Starr 5x5 that is so popular in the training forum.
