over 40 and recovering from busted blood vein in head

Young people who have strokes (and in neurology under 50 is young) are at a particularly higher risk for repeat bleeds. The condition he's describing, if he's got it right, sounds a little unusual (and believe me, he is VERY lucky to not be in a wheelchair). If he's got three different answers from three different specialists regarding meds then the results of anything he takes could potentially be unpredictable, this seems even more likely since they ALL agreed regarding exercise and diet.

Exactly...Which is why I said if we found out what meds he is on that he still has options for weight loss.

You're telling me you're totally comfortable with making suggestions for OTC shit when the professionals, who can SEE his medical file, can't agree?

The only safe option he has is to get his ass into the diet forum.

show me where I suggested any OTC supplement. I never said anything of the sort other than he had a couple options.

I'm also just curious as to what they prescribed him.

I'm sorry, look, I'm not trying to argue with you, I've just heard enough neurology for the past six plus years to know how nervous docs get when they've had a young person have a brain bleed once. He didn't even have a regular stroke, he had a brainstem bleed which has the highest mortality rate of all strokes. Granted, a major cause of brainstem bleeds is hypertension, and he claims to have that under control, but the fact is, effective fat burners work by raising your metabolism, nobody's metabolism is increased without raising your blood pressure :whatever: the increased blood pressure from a fat burner (and/or AAS) combined with working out might not be such a good thing for this guy.

Frankly, I'd like to see his diet and see what tweaks could be made there, first.

At only 40 and having already suffered ONE serious subarachnoid hemorrhage you're lucky as hell to still be able to walk, talk, eat, piss and shit without the aid of tubes and you want to risk that for the sake of vanity?! Eat a clean, wholesome diet, maintain a normal weight and exercise healthfully and be grateful you can still use your body. Are you actually willing to risk having another stroke, that might not leave you unimpaired, for the sake of GUNS?!

Take this advice. Stay safe.

Yes diet would be the first thing I would look at. I would also like to know what kind of dr's he spoke with. Were they are neurologists, cardiologists, family doc, etc.

Also, there are a lot of docs who aren't familiar with supplements and most of them are going to walk on the side of caution as to cover their ass.

If they put him say on a beta-blocker a lot of fat lose pills aren't going to do anything as it would be counter productive. Not all, but the majority of them use green-tea or caffeine to increase heart rate, which increases bp, etc. And since the beta-blocker is doing its job of suppressing that. It would be a waste to take anything like that.

..........PSSST! Hey!

Our guy has not responded to any of this.....

We are talking to ourselves...:mix:

Many valid points, especially MuscleMoms.
Good to see ya baby! Thanks for taking time out from stirring your Cauldron to chime in. I'll shoot you a PM.

You misunderstand.

Everybody's BP goes up during excercise. As your heart rate increases, so does blood pressure, that's a fact.

My concern is having our friend stroke out by simply getting his heart rate / BP up doing cardio or lifting weights, let alone the added BP increase of AAS or fat burners. You are lucky to be alive, my friend. Has your doctor given you the OK to do strenuous excercise?

Sorry HC, I took you out of context. Must be the language barrier.;)
