on my way to North Dakota looking for work... any connects hit me up...

have you ever been to ND in the winter time?? i lived there for 5 years...

it's harsh for sure..

rent a trailer, park it, or pop up on a truck.. not ideal but will control costs..

I did do the whole leave with no prospects, live in a vehicle for a week looking for a job basically starving and broke and ended up working until the last bust having a hell of a good time but being out in desolate wastelands like desolation flats Wyoming wears on you after time... -45 winters (wind chill anyways) isnt really fun either

I'd definitely look at rigzone and every service company for jobs beforehand. fracing jobs = not ossim.

You got a degree? Can learn how to run a logging tool?

Even during boomtimes there are a lot more people calling down to the main companies trying to get on as rig hands than there are jobs. Most wont hire you without experience, and it's pretty much impossible to get trained at the roughneck school by Casper WY. I definitely havent looked on baker hughes rig count recently but I'd see who is drilling up there and call each drilling company to see what their current employment situation is.

Unless you've got rig experience and know you'd appreciate the lifestyle I'd stay away.

FYI most companies don't give you the 2 on 2 off anymore, and only rig hands, mud engineers, and company hands have set schedules. Mud loggers, MWDs, Directional drillers, roustabouts, other service workers (driving skids in, water trucks, etc) all are working when the rig is drilling or they're needed.

There's also a reason the oilfield is full of divorced or single misogynists...

Those are some small shitty rigs too in the video anyways

Rig work in the States is useless...they dont make the money as they do in Canada. We pay our rig hands really well up here...my 2 operators are making 250k a year on my big coil rigs and on my small one they make 175k

What is it about Rig work in Canada that makes the workers so much higher paid than in the US?

Also, in the States its a monopoly of Oilfield services...BJ,Schlumberger,Hallibortion etc...up here, there are a lot of small service companies...private, like myself and we pay better...the big guys are fucking cheap and don't care about their employees
