i too have been tempted to make a leap like that, i like the roustabout schedule and the better money...but i'm scared to walk from my cush job that is pretty 100% recession proof and guranteed decent pension.
though i'll never make 6 figs...and that's why i've been tempted
thats like my exact position, only my job isnt totally cush, though its only as hard as i make it... it is recession proof... im not gonna lie im nervous as hell to go out there like i am, but if im ever going to change careers, now is the time...

i'd consider getting a camper, good time to buy.
my GFs sisters hubby is a natty gas pipeliner, i could work with him he offered the job (laboring at first with the potential to become a operator)
the money is hella good, bout double what i make currently but it constant traveling, never in the same spot for long and not much time off so i passed...if i wasn't so into working out i'd have considered it but all you do is work the entire summer and fall
 
this will severely impact my lifting... at least until i get my family moved out of CA and find a more reasonable commute..

working out has been a hinderance to me in a lot of ways, i envy the peeps who are happy without having to do reverse anal negative presses and other lifting shit
 
i feel i have accomplished 'enogh' with my powerlifting... my gains in strength come slower now, though i never seem to fall below a certain threshold... i feel i have gained a fairly permanant ammount of strength, and now it is time to use it to progress in the real world... i have spent the last 20 years of my life breaking my back, the last 8 doing warehousing, nothing but lifting and my gym work has truly helped my become 'indestructable' in an industry where the average worker is left worthless after a year or two... i fear no physicall labor job- only being trapped in one where i am now where my employer refused to advance myself further, despite the fact it will take them at least 3 men to fill my job....

i was a pretty smarte lad who went to college and got good grades...but i was a dumbfuk and got a libtard degree, instead of pursuing something more rigorous like civil engineering or packaging (two majors that i was interested in but didn't want to work that hard) and have done labor jobs ever since.
the current labor job i have is a good one, with some real perks...but i'm getting sick of breaking my back would rather rack my mind.
almost seems too late though, no way i could afford college.
and what were your pl accomplishments?
number wise? natty or joosed?
i'm entering a meet in oregon in march, opening with
-sq 405 hoping to get close to 5 bills on the third attempt
-bp 345, i'd be happy with 360 on the third
-dl 500, if they have the good dl bars (the skinny floppy sort) i should be able to pull 550ish

425 raw squat (was the USPA CA State Record) belt only
507 raw deadlift (current USPA CA State Record) belt oly
1125 total (current USPA CA State Record) belt only
gym lifts
535 raw deadlift @155
1100lb leg press for reps
455 squat belt and knee wraps @150
315 zercher squats for a lotta reps
405x14 reps deadlift
90lb pistol squats
a lot of other fun stuff... though when i take time off i never get weaker than a 350 squat and a 450 dead...

some cool trophies, best lifter awards and even a sword... locally im one of the best, nationally im good but far from the best at 148...
not natty though...
i blew my chance at college and its too late to go back now... i was smart but not smart enough to realise the consequeces...
