on my way to North Dakota looking for work... any connects hit me up...

your going to be missing out on the opportunity of living in a remote area by still needing to pay for a mortgage and taxes in CA. U can buy the same house for 1/3 as much and have 1/3 the taxes so a 50-60K there would be worth wayy more.

ive worked in cold storage for over 8 years... our blast freezer is like 30 below... i would plan on relocation the family somewhere out of california when we are able to sell our house... not ND, but somewhere where the commute would not be quite as bad...

Well if you are going to relocate the family anyway, there are oil and gas jobs in better places, although most of them are pretty crappy. Colorado or Utah wouldn't be bad and theres a lot going on in those places. Texas, Pennsylvania too..

Ok. But its not just travel expenses its needing a place to live also.
Also consider that if you take a supervisor job, the experience is worth something as well. Think about where you want to be in 5 years. 5 years experience as a supervisor and you may get promoted again, or have a good resume to shop around. And its a cushy desk job compared to working nights and freezing your ass off outdoors in hard physical labor.

I'm not criticizing you, I'm just hoping you consider everything. I'm in the oil business myself, and I know that its a very good business to be in. Good pay, good benefits, and pretty much recession proof these days.
i turned down a supervisor position offered to me last year, they wanted to pay me 30k salary, and i would not even be able to feed my family and keep a roof over their head in the house we own... this is not somthing spur of the moment, i have been looking into this for some time...
my first stop will be in williston at CCS, where they have a man camp for their workers... i have no problem living out of my truck for a couple weeks at a time if it makes thing better for my family... even at my current job i only see them two days a week because im stuck working nights- i wake up and they are gone, i get home and they are asleep; a week or two off at a time will be much better...
a job supervising in the oil fields is 120k/yr... that would be my goal in a few years if i put in some hard work...

oh of course, my goal is to get the hell out of california asap... i just need to do some minor remodels to the house to make it worth selling... and we live in a good neighborhood that homes are fairly desired...
im sick of supporting all the people here on welfare...

you can stay at pick3's place...it's quite the commute, but he's got really nice carpet you'll only find if you travel back to 1970.
