i was playing football a month ago and some dude fell on my arm, and i couldnt feel it for a minute or 2. there was excrutiating pain down around my shoulder. i think i tore the muscle tha tconnects the front delt to the bicep OR the tendon that conects front delt to the chest. i know theres no broken bones cuz theres no bruising or swelling and the pain isnt there till i put presure on it or push my arm back or lift it up to the side till i cant go up anymore (think side lateral raise motion). so when i do flies it hurts. can it be the tendons like i mentioned above? or rotator cuff? its annoying as hell.

*note* today i did bench press, and sure enough it starting hurting at the very edge of my right pec- where it meets the front delt. i stopped immediately ofcourse.

wow daverelli,
that sure helps the man and gives him great, solid advice.

Yarg- I speak for everyone on this forum (although Im a noob) I'd reccomend getting it checked out by a Dr. immediattely so they can perform x-rays. I too had this problem right in the area you speak of. I tried letting it slide for a good month but it never healed. I went to the Dr and they found a partial tear and told me to absolutely stay off the weights for a couple weeks.

thanks man. i scheduled a doctor's appointment. it doesnt hurt at all till i put strain on it.. so im really hoping it heals up so i can do heavy shit again, and get back into martial arts, cuz this thing is more annoying than painful.

dave- honestly why would you say something like that? you just want to incite a flame war? you have nooo idea what I do in my life, and the pain threshold that I have. injuries happen in football, ok? every football great has had injuries. how can i prevent my shoulder from tearing? accidents occur.. next time i would think twice before i make such useless conjectures, especially since you're fairly new. if you think no injuries occur in sports (especially football), you should get on that short yellow bus, and keep on keeping on, or maybe just off yourself because clearly you're not cut out for life. kthnxbye.

yeah the truth usually does that man. i once called this loser i knew a gaylord and he freaked out at me. wtf was that all about! but luckily i managed to send him into orbit using my giant left pec, so he will never bother me again! yay me!

i'm just saying that some people just aren't very aggressive by nature and aren't meant for physical activities

if you haven't noticed, even professional football players get hurt sometimes.
try to be a little more helpful, huh? that wasn't the truth that you said, just an ignorant comment.

yarg- i'm glad you're going to see a doctor- drewboy is right- it could be a tear or not much of anything but you should have it checked out. in the meantime, rest and ice.

the best pros never get hurt or if they do they play through it, Lawrence Taylor had 3 sacks in a game with a broken arm
