You should go up to the guy and ask him politely to leave her alone. Do not allow a conversation. Just make it short and sweet. Something along the lines of, "My GF does not want you to be near her or to speak to her. I would appreciate it if you would comply." Then walk away. If he persists then complain to the gym manager. He will lose his membership for harassment. Violence should be the last resort.

Why are guys so violent?

I really dont understand all this violence! Look what just happened in New york yesterday cuz of violent people! Just tell your girl to tell someone at the gym that he is bothering her and I am sure they will deal with it! No need to get violent! Its not like he is touching her or anything! and some girls arent serious about there guys and so maybe he though he had a chance how is he supposed to know unless he tries?!
