Obama: "That Fence Is Basically Complete"

mrplunkey

New member
Could someone explain to me how that could even be spun?

To me, that seems like a bare-faced lie regardless of your specific position on border security.

I'd like to hear the pro-Obama lobby explain this one.

It's just politics.. (spin)

and yes he is a muslim. he may not think so, or consider himself one, but according to law, his father was so is he..

I'd still like to hear the spin on this one.

How could what he said possibly be construed as true? Grasp at straws here... anything...

Anyone?

And if it is just completely false from every angle, why isn't it bigger news?

Not a single person is going to step-up and shed some light on this?

I don't think that the side will say anything other then it's just political spin. It's like the other spin told by the left and right during the years.

Wow, Plunkey without Redsam is running unchecked. You need a Yin to your Yang.

There's a difference between spin and a bare-faced lie.

I can't figure out how he pulls it off without more people being upset. Spin would be "We've made more progress on the border fence than any previous administration". That's got some wiggle room. But to say something that's 5% complete is "basically complete" is just a lie.

That's easy.

1) See who is in power.
2) The other team will get angry.

What law are you talking about? Last I checked I could choose to be a Muslim even if my father is Greek Orthodox. What religion your family is does not automatically make you that.

Technically, Obama was a Muslim when he was born because it descends from the father based on the mythology of Islam. In Judaism, the female determines the religious orientation of the child. Once Obama was saved by Rev. Wright he became a Christian by choice and Muslims are commanded to kill the apostate Obama.

However, is he REALLY a christian?

He lied and the Obama media will repeat his lie long enough that people will start to believe it.

I watched Rachel Maddows claim that Mitch Daniels cutting off funding for planned parenthood will kill people on medicaid.

1. If you rely on a government handout...you get government quality service...

2. I'm pretty sure planned parenthood isn't the only medicaid provider of gyno services in Indiana.

lol ;)

but those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from "the heart"!!1

I'll spin it. You are bitching about a fence Bush started with four years left in his term yet has gone nowhere. Maybe he has no intention of finishing it. I hope they don't. Based on the cost of what they built so far that fence alone could bankrupt the country.

And how does that make the fence "Basically Complete"?

That's the part I don't get. We can debate the merits of the fence all day long, but calling it "basically complete" is just a bare-faced lie.

Have we reached a new low? Can we just completely make shit up at this point?

Ahh ha! Eureka! The first attempt at spin in the entire thread is... "It's Bush's Fault!" HAHAHA, CLASSIC. Oh man, will it never end!?

Oh, and yeah..... ummm.... building a fence to ensure the security of our border and protecting citizens will bankrupt the country, not the um TRILLIONS of dollars in entitlement programs and Obama Care!

OH MY GOODNESS, I'm holding my sides in laughter! I can't believe Keith O is so bored now after being fired he is on Elite Fitness ;)

The fence was expected to cost $2-$4 billion dollars but it wasn't funded when it was passed so we had no idea where the money was going to come from. Sound familiar? By 2007 the estimate was up to $49 billion. Who knows what it's up to now. DHS set a goal to complete approximately 670 miles of fencing by December 31, 2008. In June 2007, it was announced that a section of the barrier had been mistakenly built from 1 to 6 feet (1.8 m) inside Mexican territory. This will necessitate the section being moved at an estimated cost of over US$3 million.

The Homeland Security Department in 2007 (you know...before Obama) began to shift its focus to erecting a “virtual fence” along the 2,000-mile border, using sensors, cameras and other high-tech equipment to prevent illegal crossings.

In 2010 the Department of Homeland Security froze funding of the project because of the expense overruns. Maintenance costs over the next 25 years are estimated at $49 billion, and the fence is only expected to last 25 years, so really this fence will cost over $100 billion by the time it's done.

I thought you guys said we needed to spend less money? This fence is a great place to do just that.

Let's assume that $100B number is correct.

We just wasted over $850B on a stimulus package that destroyed 1,000,000 private sector jobs.

That fence project would be a great deal, even at that overinflated number.

BUT WAIT... you're attempting to use reasoning and actual facts to refute liberals, WHY!? We all know liberals stand on their head and tell the rest of the world IT is upside down!

Just imagine how hard it must be for them to live outside of reality, and here you are giving them actual logic, have you no heart!? I suppose you want America to drill for oil too, oh, and you want babies to NOT be murdered and sucked out of their mother's womb! You cruel, cruel, bigot!

Repeat after me: Clinton Lied, but no one died... or, um... "It's Bush's fault!" Phew, now, doesn't that feel better! Besides, at the end of the day, doesn't it just make more sense to continue to the already one-trillion dollar welfare programs which have propagated the inner-city and destroyed the black family, rather than create a fence to secure our Nation's integrity and lower drug trafficking and kidnapping?

WHOA.... hold.... the..... phone!!!

Are you saying, now let me get this right..... that the government of all things, CAN'T follow a budget or maintain a linear progression of any project, even one as simple as erecting a secure border!? NOOOOOOO!!!!

I know, let's let them handle our Health Care!!

Ouch, inadvertently, you just added a four millionth pebble on top of the proof pile of Conservative Doctrine. Well, at least to the credit of the democrats, all the poor people are now out of poverty since we've been issuing them free money taken from contributing citizens and redistributed for decades, and decades, and decades.

WHAT'S THAT? Nothing has changed, it's actually gotten worse? Well, let's just allow them to do MORE OF IT, that'll fix the hemorrhaging!

That is in indefensible argument. Our government is the biggest collection of serial screw-ups ever and there are people who still can't help but want to shovel more money at them.

X-rays lead to startling human cargo bust - CBS Evening News - CBS News

More alarming, they came from at least eight different countries: 410 from Guatemala, others as far away as India, Nepal and China - a smuggling pipeline run by gangs.

I noticed that too...

Why is the argument always framed that someone is racist against Mexicans if they support border security? I guess you could frame the debate as being racist against non whites....

However, its a red herring...open borders are fine in a non-welfare state society.

Precisely... no matter WHAT your views are on any possible societal subject or even political stance, it is simply impossible with a sane mind to actually argue we should offer more and more of our money earned through our own efforts of employment to the government. After all, we have centuries of examples of reasons why NOT to do that.

Seriously, now I'm truly curious... has anyone ever, ever, EVER actually said: "I don't get taxed enough! Enough of this already, take more of my money Uncle Sam, you do so much better with it than I could, here you go!"
