Anyone who has done KETO diets before, im looking for some advise.

Goal is to drop bf with minimal muscle loss

question re carbing up: Is the carbing up one meal only on a sunday for example, or is it a 24-36 hour period from after my last workout on friday night through to saturday night. Consisting of about 5-6 meals with carbs in it?

Can someone please clarify this...

Also do i wait 14 days to do initial carb up, then every 7 days there after?

Supps will be osta & S4 stack, multi, fish oil, xtend Bcas, PES erase/alpha t2 stack

Weights: mon/tue & thu/fir
Cardio: 3 times a week - walking

peace!

Look up Bodyopus, its Duchaines old book from 90s, which some folks have summarized and updated changes to it tweaking it for new changes....if you can discipline yourself to just eat meat, fish, veggies, eggs, cheese, some nuts, and pound protein shakes you will be good.....your appetite goes down after 3 weeks on a diet of meat and veggies, and take handfuls of BCAAs with meals and between meals, and a massive amount of EFAs......if your good at being strict go for it with all precision, but Im telling ya if you can fill your fridge with beef, chicken, salmon, even tuna, eggs, a little bit of dairy, just eat as much meat and fish as you can, toss in some veggies, and you will see results

If you want a deep read, check out Good Calories Bad Calories.....if you want simple, same author but Why We Get Fat and What to Do about It....it will explain the hormone response to foods we eat and how to stay or get lean......it debunks the calories in calories out, and its a very good argument, which Ive played with and believe it to be true that its not as simple as counting calories in and out and expenditure, etc....Paleo diet is good, but not enough protein content for lifting and especially if your juicing...

I did bodyopus 16 years ago and got shredded however I was doing too much interval training and power training...if you are doing double sessions a day at the weightroom and track, you can bump up the carbs....and carbs right after your workout are not gonna kill you either. Im pretty sure you can get to keto, hit the gym hard, have a post workout shake with carbs, and still drop back into keto that night....and if you need it once a week do the reload thing....google bodyopus and you will find an article on BB.com I think that talks about tweaks to it that make a lot of sense.....

But again there are so many varients of keto type diets, Makers Diet, Paleo Diet isnt pure keto but close, Atkins, Protein Power, whatever the names are all of them are very similar......

tired Im rambling.....start slow man just fill your shopping cart with meats and veggies to start, and baby step it and see how the body reacts....a mistake alot of folks make is not taking in enough fat when doing keto diets, you gotta get fats in, EFAs are not enough, and Id even take way more the dosage then suggested for the EFAs and BCAAs.....

I eat Paleo man, lots of meat, beef, chicken, pork, fish, and lots of fresh veggies, no sugar, If u wanna know the in's and out's you can read The Primal Blueprint by Mark Scisson, or The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolfe both very good books explaining the science behind Paleo without putting u to sleep

great write up, thanks for that really appreciate it. Had a read of Bodyopus and think that is what i am going to follow and see how it goes!!

Only question i havent had answered and i hear a lot of debate on, is waiting 7 days or 14 day until your first carb up.... takes longer to get into ketosis first off apparently?

keto strips are cheap as dirt....and everyone will be different....get some keto strips you pee on and can tell where you are....

alot of this is insulin control, Im guessing even if you are not in full on keto, if your carbs are low and insulin low, and your juicing and hammering protein, your going to be in a nice anabolic state where your body is using fat for fuel

I'm doing a CKD right now and I carbed up after the first 7 days and stayed in ketosis the whole time. To be honest I don't know how you can go for 14 days without a carb-up if your still lifting at the gym.... By the time I reached the 5th day I lost the ability to think straight
