Hi I have been lurking this board for a couple weeks, and have made the occasional post. I just thought I would introduce myself.

I have been a hardcore swimmer for years. All America for 3 years in a row in the 1650yrd, 500yrd and 200yrd races.

I am not so competetive anymore, and am just looking to chisel my body to the shape of my liking now. So hello to you all and I am sure I can learn a lot from you guys.

Thank you for the welcome. Angel tits? uh ok

Also I have surfed my entire life, as i grew up on the beach in Los angeles. And I like to road race my SS camaro on the track when funds allow for it :)

Carde,

Nah! I won't call you "Angel Tits"; only because it didn't seem to bother you so much. Anyway ...

You surfed where in LA? I grew up in Newport Beach and surfed from 10 to 28. I'm living in Las Vegas right now but will be moving to LA next year sometime.

I've still got my old Robert August board ... it's a 5'8" tri-fin ... squirly as hell ... I'm not even sure if I could stand up on it anymore ... It's been several years since I've taken it out ... you know, as you get older, getting up at 5 in the morning to get in the cold water just doesn't hold the same fascination for me that it once did. he he

I grew up in Redondo beach. It's about 40 mins north of newport. I live in silicon valley now, and the waves suck up here. Except for Big sur, but i ain't crazy enough to try that.

I love tri fins, yeah they are squirly but it's so easy to carve up a wave with them.

Yet, there is always something to be said for longboarding. The grace and elegence of them will always have something for me.

Did you ever go to san onofre? GOD DAMN, i love that beach. It's half way to san diego where the nuclear power plant it. We used to call it tit beach, cause of the shape of the reactors. Beautiful waves tho.

Ha ha ha ... You live in Silicon Valley? I lived in San Francisco for the past 8 years. I moved to Las Vegas in February after getting fired from my consulting job.

Several years ago, I worked in Mountain View at KPMG Peat Marwick ... off of the 101 at Ellis. The commute sucked.

Anyway, I'm very familiar with Redondo and especially San Onofre. When I was 14 and 15 years old, my pals and I had trailers on our bicycles and we'd pedal the 40 miles or so down to San Onofre on Friday afternoons to surf on Saturdays and Sundays.

Yeah, the nuke plant does in deed look like Dolly Parton's tits.

There's not a whole lot of surfing in the bay area except for Santa Cruz. However, if you ever make it 300 miles north up to Trinidad, the waves are great up there but the water is so damn cold that it's not much fun (at least for me).
