Nelmsjer's 2006 Journal

My a$$ is here, GG. :)

With IP being sick for a bit, we skipped a few days in the gym. It was a nice refresher, and it was even nicer getting back in. Yesteray's workout went really well, and I still feel like I have a way to go on my lifts. Good stuff. :)

Sets were for 10/10/8

Squats: 175/225/290 - I think I'm getting stronger/adapting physiologically faster than I'm putting on the weight. These keep getting easier.
Bench: 160/190/230 - I followed this up with 225...10 times! 3 reasons I'm excited: 1) I haven't done that since I was 24. 2) I couldn't do more than 7 for 2 weeks in a row at the beginning of May. 3) I did that AFTER my "heavy" set at 230. My intent was just to do some extra reps for volume, but ended up pushing out 10. :D
Bent Row: 140/170/190 - form is always rough on the last 2 reps of these, but by no means ugly. :FRlol:

I definitely FEEL the extra set on bench this morning. It's not painful or terrible, but it is certainly present and letting me know it is there. :)

Awesome, you went and did!

BiggT, that is a very great question. Let me fill everyone in on some things going on...

I can't really give specific dates, for security reasons, but IP and I will soon be on vacation in Ecuador. So, we don't have a lot of lifting time left over the next week or so. While in Ecuador, we will not have fitness facilities, so we will be making due with bodyweight and partner exercises for 2 weeks. Thankfully, we are in a cutting stage for the purpose of an EF "meet-up" in July. Anyway, after the 2 weeks in Ecuador, we only have 2 weeks back in Iraq before we go HOME. That means a lot of organizing, packing, etc. We'll still be getting our lifting in, but it will be an unbelievably hectic 2 weeks.

When we return to the States, we don't have a home, yet. So...for various reasons, we are traveling for literally 1 month when we get back, before we actually move to our final destination. At THAT point, however, we will be able to work out whenever and however often we want, since we will both be helping to manage an upscale racquet club owned by the Best Man of our wedding. :)

Lord willing, life is about to be even better...God is good. :D

Jens and Duckie...it's great to see you here. Thanks! :wavey: :rose:

Everything was easy today. I am now at 195.8 lbs. and loving the leanness. All sets were for 10 reps. Incline and Lat Pulldown were super-set.

Squat: 175/230/290
Incline: 155/175/190
Lat Pulldown: 120/125/150

Finished with 20 minutes of incline walking and burned 180 calories. Yesterday, IP and I did incline sprint intervals for 45 minutes, and I burned 750!

It looks like you have some interesting time ahead for yourselves and that it's going to be fun for you both. I can see you're looking forward to getting back to the USA.

Today I tweaked my wrist a little when I didn't get my elbows up fast enough, and it caught my knee on the squat clean at 225 lbs.

So, I did what every normal male would do: added more weight and set a PR at 265 lbs.
