LOL! You know the slang for HT's! Too funny. Yeah, my son made the right decision to apply and test for NDT. They are indeed in high demand. In fact, the Northrup-Grumman offer comes on the heels of a previous offer that wasn't quite as lucrative. Truth be told, my son is a bit overwhelmed but I told him that in this economy, he should be glad he's overwhelmed as there are a lot of folks out there that would give their left nut for a salary like that.

Interestingly enough, when I steered him toward the military, I had machinations that he'd become a Navy Diver. The kid is a natural SCUBA diver. He's the best diver in the family but his reasoning was "I don't want to do it Dad because I love diving, but if I did it for a living, I might end up hating it." Truth be told, I wouldn't argue that point. Regardless, he's made some good decisions and is now reaping the rewards.
