My profile of Maryland sniper

Christ, sounds like i need to dispell some of the errors on this post!!!!!

Probably using a military weapon because the M16 and AR15 are chambered in the .223. The other option of military round which most snipers use is the .308.

Not sure where you guys are coming up with the 300 mag theory. There are far better rounds to use in sniper work if he wanted to use civilian cartridges. The .220 Swift and the 22-250 both outperform the .223 hands down. The 30-06 has not been used as a military cartridge since WW2.

The .223 has no noticable recoil, even in a light weight rifle. It is shooting a standard 55 grain bullet. That is one reason the military went to the .223 vs the .308 or 30-06. Less recoil, less materials, and the round is designed to wound not kill its victim. By wounding you remove more than one soldier from combat because his fellow soldiers would have to aid him in getting out of the fire fight.

The jamming problem with the M16 was common in the A1 model, this was fixed with the introduction of the A2. The M16 is revered the world over for its quality.

As far as the .223 round tumbling into its victim, that was found only in certain military barrels that were not threaded. It was used for short range purposes such as jungle warfare because when it hit the target it would zip all around in different directions causing major damage.

yeah, definitely a cracker, brothers dont get down like that, they are too pussy, they hold up a couple KFC's and steal some kool-aid and theyre done. now crackers on the other hand, they go buckwild.

Hilarious! Anyone who is gonna shout racist, at least he was fair and said "cracker" as well, lol.

Race=Don't care

Terror related=In some ways but not something big thats going to blow away the minds of CNN

choice of weapons=nothing that Joe smoe can't buy through a dealer

It's pretty obvious that this person can't be too highly trained because unless the talk radio I heard today was wrong all "victims" were shot at less then 200 yds

I'm sorry but with piece of shit M16A2 that was just pieced together from scrap parts I can hit a target at 300 yds often enough to be able to see if I'm hitting it in the chest or the head with no scope

Not that I'm a master at shooting but knowing my weapon after firing a few hundred rounds I know just how much I'm going to have to pick it up inorder to shoot a target in the head at 300yds and have a decent amateurs working knowledge on how different wind directions and speed has affected my shooting of an M16A2

I dont mean to brag, but 100 yard and even 200 yard accuracy is possible even with a handgun. Heck, a $150 SKS will hit anything at 100 yards easy. This guy is no great sniper, he just thinks he is. He is pretty clever, but hes definitely a well versed amateur.

I dont understand why everyone thinks this is some expert rifleman with cia or military experience. My 12 year old daughter can hit pop cans at 80 yards away with my ar15 and I can shoot a 5" group open sites @500 yards away. Its not hard at all with a 223. I also have a m1 Grand that is stupid accurate. I agree with MP5 the 308 would be the choice for most snipers. I think whoever is doing this is a rag head.

The Marines could use a few good women too.

MP5, Good post, but actually, the jamming problem was corrected when they added the forward assist to the rifle....Just a note.
