My left side is weaker than right side when Dumbell benching?

Ive got this problem that my left side is weaker than my right side while doing dumbell bench. I had surgery on my left shoulder but that was back in November and I am past the point where i should be back to full strength, so i dont know if its the surgery part. Anyone else have this problem in general and what can I do about it?

got the same problem w/my quads...I just force the weaker leg to outpace the stronger one by doing more reps at the end of my set.

I do an extra set on the weak side until it catches up.
It drops back about once a year of so as you use you right hand
to do more daily chores..

How do you do that without falling off the bench?

No you need to just work out your left side till it gets stronger again

it seems like the stronger side would get more ripped from doing lower weight

When I switched from barbell bench to dumbell bench I definetly had a strength imbalance. I just kept working those dumbell presses and the imbalance went away in a month or two.

Two things: First, i wouldnt reccomend extra sets or reps, for the reasons stated by louden
Second: Mr Zap, who is that in your avatar?

I agree with Louden. That's the advice I have always been given. Work both sides to the potential of the weak side. Keep increasing the weight at the potential of the left side and eventually it should catch up with the right side.

That's my .02 anyway.

Louden if that is you in your avatar, you are looking jacked my man!

i think everyone has this problem at some point...just stick to dumbells and it will all even out eventually..thats what i did and it worked
