MY Doc scared the SH*T out of me today.

You guys with the horrible HDL/LDL numbers....I have a question. Did any of you come down with signs or symptoms of Angina?

Do other bros agree with the last statement in this paragraph?
40mg ED is just as bad as 100? I would think not but would like to hear other opinions.

if you are sensitive, 20 or 40 will knock you to single digit (or unmeasurable lol) HDL. Obviously, there isnt any lower to go from there. Sux but true.

I didnt, and I get to single digits HDL.

HOWEVER, I always had a pretty clean diet, good off-var cholesterol numbers, low homocystiene levels, low C-Reative Protein numbers, etc etc.
iow, no significant plaque to start with.

A cycle or two under those conditions wont throw you into crises. BUT, what it will do is increase the rate at which you are depositing arterial plaque. In other words, you are accelerating your CV aging. No getting around that.

So, if you were already 2 years of normal plaque accumulation away from a blocked artery and a cardiovascular event, doing 6 months of var might get you there. Thats probably about the best analogy.

well said wootool. Everyone should be able to understand that concept.

I also want everyone to know that when I said my HDL went from 82 to 26 I was almost every beneificial suppliment (for lipid profiles) that I could get. They included 20mg PD nolva, policosonal, omega 3, niacin, and garlic. I was also eating a very clean diet where breakfast every day consisted of 4 G whey protien in 1 cup of skim milk, 1 banana, 1 cup of yogart and 3/4 cups of raw oatmeal all blended together.

Bro get a load of this. My buddy's wife has a condition that one in 50 million people get. long story short

total cholesterol has improved it is 3.2. A ratio of 3/0. 0 HDL

(Canadian numbers)

Long strory short. My blood work is back from my 3 month 100mg var, 1 gram test cycle and the results just about knocked my Doc out of her chair. She said that she had never seen anyone with numbers this bad in 17 years of practicing, and Im a prime candidate for a stroke. My HDL was almost zero. She called the lab to retest my sample and confirm that this was the correct number, then booked me to see a cardiologist.

Sorry for the canadian scale, but i cant find a way to convert mmol/litre to nanograms/decilitre for all the americans. If anyone would like to convert these numbers to nanograms/decilitre, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cholesterol 4.80 mmol/l HIGH
HDL 0.45 mmol/L LOW (not sure, but this roughly converts to 2ng/dl
LDL 3.72 mmol/L HIGH
Total ratio 10.7

Whats funny, is that i took all the normal preventative mesures during this cycle, including 30 mins of daily high intensity interval cardio, because I am a huge believer in cardiovascular health.

6 grams fish oil/day
3000mgs garlic
3 tbsp flax oil

NO more VAR for me!!

I may be mistaken but didn't Ulter think cholesterol values weren't an important indicator of cardiovascular damage risk etc?

Ulter your thoughts?

I dont even know what angina is.... so I dont think I have it. ~shrugs~

I have no symptoms at all. My doc says 'I dont know how you can live like that'. lovely... just what you want your doc to tell you.

Does Test effect lipids levels in the same manner? I have all this test waiting for use, but I will wait until the time is right. would it cause me more probs than good?

The Doctor also has no idea that you are on steroids.

Dont be too concerned. One month of a strict high fiber diet, niacin (get the kind that makes you flush, its better - trader joe's), Flax oil. Keep your diet around a 40/30/30 p/f/c ratio and you will do well.

I went from 14 to 48 HDL in exactly one month with an even looser diet and supplementation regimine.

3 months is way different than 6 weeks, i am really sorry to hear that. i hope you are ok. i am going to have my bloodwork done as i always do, i think if you are prone to cholesterol issues that its genetic. i ran winstrol for 6 months, don't ask it was long ago and pre ef for me, my levels were not bad and liver was fine. it was 50mg eod for 6 months straight no joke, i was a stupid newb.

Not good news for all the "100 mg daily of Var" crowd that keeps growing by the minute.
as i'm sure that comment was directed at me and other bros that are running 3 months of var at 100mg ed is a lot different than 6 weeks. also it has a lot to do with genetics. some guys can't eat bacon and eggs more than once a month without messing their cholesterol up. i can eat a slab of bacon and egg yokes with krispy kremes and whole milk and mine is not effected. i think this is the reason that many guys will get their levels messed up on 40mg of var in 6 weeks while others can run 100mg ed and not be that out of whack.
