My Daily Routine…Please help!

My eating habits are bad but this week I’ve slowed it down a whole lot but it still needs some major improvement.

I’ll start with yesterday morning…

8am-plain bagel w/ sunny side up egg, diet pepsi

1pm-tomato based soup, grilled chicken wrap w/ lettuce & tomato and fat free ranch dressing, water

7pm-shrimp cesar salad w/ low fat ceasar dressing, diet pepsi

This morning

8am-another plain bagel w/ scrambled egg but I threw the egg out because it was nasty so I just ate the bagel, diet coke

I get the t-rex when I get home today. And I’m gonna change my diet up some more. I’m going tomorrow and get a scale so that I can keep up with my progress. I had some questions about the t-rex that I posted in the other thread. I was thinking about taking my first pill just before I work out this afternoon to see how it makes me feel.

Please add any comments on my diet, I know I probably need to cut off the ceasar salads completely because of the dressings but they are my favorite!

Also, I’m doing my cardio this evening. I’ll do 30 minutes on the treadmill, 30 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the bike. After I’m done with that, I’m kind of lost on what to do next. Is the machines as effect as the manual weights?

Take a look at some of the logs on here. There are examples of diet, what eaten how often and workouts. If you are looking to just lose fat then cardio is good but if your looking to put on some muscle you need to be lifting to. There's alot of great information on this board.

#1 I think you're doing too much cardio. If you eat right you don't have to do 2hours of cardio a day.

#2 You need more veggies in your diet & Healthy fats.

#3 Drop the processed carbs like the bagels. Save them for once a week. Oatmeal or a whole grain cereal would be much better. Brown rice or sweet potatoes are another option.

#4 Drink a lot of water!

If you're new to weight training, the machines are fine. Have someone show you proper form.

You are no t easting anywhere near enough. You go WAAAAAAAAAAAYYY too long between meals.

Read the logs, read the sticky at the top titled "Links to Top Threads" - it will give you sample diets. Those will tell you how to space your meals and what the meals should consist mostly of.

Good luck.

Thanks for everybody’s responses, I’ll read up some more on my diet.

This week I average about a gallon of water a day. Based on what I’ve read water is very good for my diet, I will also do away with the bagels.

The average time spent on cardio should be an hour instead of 2? Also, I was thinking about working out in the mornings and the evenings is that too much?

You can work out to much, ladies correct me if I'm wrong here. I use to do to much of alot of things and did nothing good for my body. Now I do no more than 40 to 45 min of cardio if I do more on non cardio days it's only 20 to 30 min. total. Also when your doing your cardio don't stay at the same pace through out pump it up some in spurts and hills and such to make it work more for you.

Average time doing cardio is 1 hour OMG where did you get that! :worried: I don't even do an hour getting ready for a competition.

30-45 minute session 3 to 4 times a week is plenty, but of course this would go hand and hand with a decent diet.

I never did more than an hour a day preparing for my competition either. Even if I wanted to, and I didn't, I just didn't have time to do more.

I am learning something new daily. I don't know where I got an hour from but I'm gonna bring it down to 45 minutes starting today, I'm actually on my way to the gym now.

Thanks a lot of the advice everybody...

If you change your cardio to HIIT, you only need about 30 mins of it 3x a week......if you're eating correctly then that's all you need.

Too much cardio can actually hinder fat loss.
