I hate this town now, and I can't make any money here. I have weekend job offers that will pay me $12-14 an hour for easy work, can get more modeling work if I am closer, etc. Here the average grad student makes $6 an hour, and you ahve to fight for jobs. I can't scrap by on what my family gives me and my grants much longer. I haven't had a job in 5 months.

Plus there are other factors that are too lenghty to get into. I like the school here, but the pros do not seem to outweigh the cons of living here.

Off topic I know..........but how old r u? More or less than 35 if you are sensitive about this stuff?

Anyhow, being a student sucks........never have any money........living at the wrong end of the financial ladder. But it is all worth it in the end.....good education opens doors.

Under 35 obviously. Its not just a matter of good money. I can't cover the rest of my school expenses for this semester unless the fiancial aid I applied for comes through (you would think that being on the national deans list and being an honor student would help me get a few $$$), I can't even afford this semester. They are going to drop me from my classes, unless I come up with about another grand in the next couple of weeks, and my family will not cover my school, just my very basic living expenses while in school.

Shit that truly sucks. This is the same way that the UK system is heading in. What really baffles me is that they claim this approach doesnt prevent the less well off from studying........Goddam bollox.

Well I finally put in for my first big student loan. Its subsudised, so interest does not start accumlating until after I graduate. I put in for $5000 for this year, but have not heard anything back yet on if I got it or not. If I don't I won't be going to college this semester. I took 15 hours, worked part time and made a 4.0 last semester. Well have to go to Houston. Later peeps.
