MRI results: Not Good

I posted this on the Anabolics board too, but wanted to get your opinions as well.

I have a "very significant tear" in my triceps tendon. It happened during two-a-days in August. I sat out two weeks at the time and was accused of not being tough. My idiot trainers didn't get me in for an MRI until last Friday. Turns out I've been playing injured and beating the odds all year, as the doc said "you have a better than 50/50 chance of tearing it completely if you continue to play.

There are only two weeks left in the season, so I think I'm gonna keep going. If it tears, I'll have to have surgery. Has anyone had similar surgeries? If so, how was your recovery?

quite a painfull injury from what I understand luckily I have never had the misfortune. If you completely tear it the operations for the repair are almost always %100 effective. There is a long rehab period and a lot of pain involved, but I will take the wuss way out and tell you to do what your doc says. If he says you can play....play. 50/50 isnt great odds but any of us could get hit by a truck tomorrow and you should always take advantage of the opportunities you have at the time. Nothing worse than regretting not doing something when you had the chance.

Thanks for the advice guys. And yes, it hurts like hell. Every time I get caught with it in the wrong position, it feels like someone is stabbing me in the back of the elbow with and ice pick.

If I tear it an need surgery, how long would this keep me out of training?
