Another zombie movie. As if you didn't know.
Anyway, not quite as good as Dawn Of The Dead, but a toss up on whether to go see it or not. What really watered this movie down was the zombie problem was no longer a problem, just a nuisance. Thus that took away the entire Oh My God What Is Going On kind of panic. You know where people can't figure out what the fuck is happening and such.
Best part of the movie - where the zombies were feeding and one was reaching down the throat of his victims to pull out the warm gooey insides.
Grossiest part of the movie - when the zombie ran it's nails down the metal and you could see the fingernails peeling back and breaking off.
Ok.. spoiler alert ****
****spoiler alert - do not scroll down if you don't want to know anything else****
Ok, here is what I didn't like about the movie. First, it was never clear how the zombies survived. I mean all the living humans had barricaded themselves in the city and the zombies couldn't get in. They had been there for quite a long long time. So how did zombies survive without anything to feed on?
One thing that has never been explained in any zombie movie... the zombies are slow, yet possess enough strength to pull a person's arm out of the socket and tear away from the body or their head completely off their shoulders, yet they can't pull off a piece of wood from a window or push a door down. That makes no sense.
The "lead" zombie - the black guy from the gas station, the zombie with the meat cleaver and zombie female with half her mouth on the side of her face... they were always at the head of the line when the zombies were "charging" or invading the city. Yet, they never got shot. That is unrealistic.
When you are put on zombie guard duty, you shouldn't wear headphones blaring music so you don't hear the floor creak behind you.
Zombies walking on the bottom of the river - ala Pirates Of The Caribbean style - isn't believeable.
This movie wasn't scarey at all, despite it was suppose to be. It had more humor than tense moments in it.
The most unique part of the movie was the bar where they had two zombies in a UFC cage style ring and would throw a live person in there and make bets.
Movie review over.
