Turns out my apricot seed biz turned out to be a good idea!

Theres this computer/electronic repair shop that I called about. Saw the ad on CL, they need a person to post listings on their ebay account. They are HUGE company that has thousands of listings, they said the job would be permanent. The thing I like is that it is M-F 8-5.

They pay per post you list - but after 2 weeks probation period they pay 2.25/post. So even if I only do 5 posts per hour, I will make 11.25/hr. They also said they would pay cash or check. The only downfall is that it is in Sac, which is an hr away from me. But I am 100% sure I can post more than 5 items in an hr, I can probably do more like 8.

And if I keep my other job on the weekend, I will be rolling in the cash my nuggas.

Anyway Im not gonna get too excited just yet. It sucks because it is 100% commission, so theres no guarantee. But at the same time I can almost guarantee 5 listings.hr on average. Ive been posting on ebay for 6 years and am really familiar with the site. I go in on Monday, I just hope its a permanent job, and that I know I will always make at least X amount of money. They lady said there were thousands of posts and that I would never run out of things to post.

So theres no reason for me to go drive anywhere to deliver any pics or descriptions but thats just my business. I guess what they are doing at your place is different somehow but try to ask them if they can simply email you the digital photos with descriptions because if the only reason you are driving an hour is to get the photos thats a bigass waste because the whole job is internet based.

Although yes consolidating jobs is always a good thing so you arent having to switch gears all the time for different jobs.

On the CL ad, it said for compensation: up to 1600/month plus bonuses, so Ill def clarify this. They said you get $1.50 per post for the first 2 weeks, then it drops to $1.25 per post, but you also get $1.00 per post at the end of the week as a bonus. So really you get $2.25 per post

1099 employees have to pay taxes rob. Usually quarterly, but it's not always necessary.

If they take the pics and make the listings for you, there's no reason they can't email them to you. It takes all of about 10 more seconds. Stupid to waste gas on a work from home gig. Everyone has cancer cells and always will. Taking chemo will kill the cancer cells but if you kill the WBC in your body, you are killing your immune system, which is the only line of defense in your body to attack cancer! So really it should be used cautiously. Doctors automatically say chemo because they hear the word cancer when that shouldnt be the case. I am glad your mom is alive though bro that is always good to hear. I didnt mean to lol at that.

I HONESTLY believe, if anyone would take the time and research and NOT listen to the government/pharma companies, that diet/exercise/supps.no stress is the key. I think a LOW dose of chemo would be ideal, but there are so many people dying of cancer because of chemo, not the cancer itself.

To make $11.25/hr, according to them, I would have to post 5 things each hour. That seems really easy. It takes me 5 minutes now.

But either way Im keeping my 2 jobs (Hotel, Chili's). I will work them on the weekends if this gig is legit and its M-F. Ill be working 7 days a week for a good 4-5 months and then I might drop the 2 PT jobs I have right now if the ebay job is legit. I also have my ebay business that I make 200-300 a month on.

Never heard of carpal tunnel syndrome? And steroids + keyboard + weights actually increases your odds of getting CTS (or any other repetative motion stress injury).

Additionally, bear in mind that when you're working for yourself you basically need to be earning 1/3 to 1/2 MORE than you would make if you were getting paid on a W2 because of the taxes that come out. And you MUST pay those taxes, the penalties hurt like hell if you miss them. And if you're going to be getting a 1099 it's not like Ebay stuff, you're going to have someone declaring what they paid you, the subcontractor. Now you will be able to deduct things, like office space, electricity, gas, etc., but you're going to have to start keeping a record of all of that, too.

And you can get away without paying the quarterlies (I only pay mine twice a year) but you need to do your taxes properly from the start. Honestly, unless you're very good with numbers it's worth it to go to a CPA.

You'll obviously grow from having a kid this young in some ways, but its like holding a gun to the maturation process.

Not having a kid allowed me to do things like travel, be able to change careers or go back to school without consequence, go out and meet interesting people as well as network. Date a wide variety of girls to the point where I know what type of woman I want; without having a kid to detract from that.
Dating is a billion times different when you have a kid and the other person doesn't, if you even have time to meet them. Thats not me saying that, that's people in that situation saying that.

I've personally had a ton of fun, and life changing experiences and adventures I would have never been able to do while taking care of a baby. Things that have expanded my horizons and made me a better person. Theres still a lot more I want to do and see before I have a family, but I'm not one of those people who wished he "could have" because I've done it all almost.

I was able to take risks in business that taught me a tremendous amount and that will carry over to my next venture. You can't change gears or direction at the drop of a dime when you have another mouth to feed. Stability over opportunity.

I'm not saying you can't make it,you certainly can. you just made it more difficult and robbed yourself of time to really learn about yourself. You're still a kid, raising a kid.

You sound like you'll be a good father as far as actually caring about your kid, but lets be real and realize that you may not have the same opportunities than if you had waited.
