Maybe your sore because.........

Maybe your sore because you always work to failure, or you dont do enought of it. My story

I remember in HS when i was in weight training. We did an upper body split one day, then a lower the next day. Fridays was a cardio-agility day. I was sore when i started at first, but all of us never had DOMS after doing it awhile.

The coach never ever ever given us instructions to go to failure on all of our lifts. It was a 4 week split that would eventually work us up to a one rep max. It was much like DE, and ME workouts. Simple and compound.

Just somthing for some of you to think about.

I think that failure concept is kind of the backbone of accessory work for Westside, and also DC and several other training methods.

..and you're right, with time the soreness stops. I never get sore anymore, unless I do something really outrageous and shocking to my system.

Likewise.

It might have something to do with the only time I train to failure being when I max out every now and again, and 1 rep maxes don't make me sore anyway :D

Just got back into the gym after a pseudo-layoff.... and I am SORE.. but swaining like a champ, so I bet the soreness could be a lot worse than it is.

im only really sore worth mentioning when i dont do/get enough of the following

good nutrition
lots of nutrition
lots of sleep
lots of AR

so in other words, being sore is my own fault.

I don't get sore if I train more frequently but going to a 4 day split with a week between working out the same body part I am getting DOMS, is this deconditioning happening due to the increased time between working out individual body parts?

Used to be fine leaving just 3-4 days I was never sore.
