well, if we get in some kind of an argument, I would not let other people know. Just because I know that after 30min we are back to normal. So, I dont see that as fighting. BUT, I dont go telling people how we dont have any disagreements. Everyone gets into some kind of an argument, life is not rosy at all times

Worse thing you can do is tell family every time you guys fight and argue. One, they only get your side of things and usually its skewed a little. And two, although you may forgive and forget and want to move on, they never will. A buddy of mine just left his wife, her family hated him and basically it was because she would tell her mom every argument they got into.

omg, this is like the smartest thing you've ever said!!!! I agree 100% Parents and siblings would never ever like your SO after all that you told them at a moment of anger and your more distant relatives - like cousins, aunts, uncles will only have something to talk about on boring days

I rarely fight with my wife but when we do, most people can tell.

Anyway, you know it is a sign of an abusive relationship when a long married couple are all lovey dovey in public. Trying to hide the fact that they beat one another like a drum behind closed doors.
