How did this movie not win for best movie of the year?

A beautiful mind won right? Sure it was a good movie, but only because of the acting. While Lord of the Rings was as whole an incredible movie. From directing to custums, it was all but perfect.

Perhaps the next one will win for best movie.

I didn't like a beautiful mind, I thought it was boring. I mean the movie was very well done but just wasn't very exciting. I have not seen lord of the rings yet.

i agree with Star, beautiful mind was pretty boring, especially at over 4 hours long. while lord of the rings was 3hrs, i was so mesmerized that i couldn't wait for the other 2 to come out. the next 2 are going to kick some major ass.

my bad, it's actually 2 hrs 16 mins, but it sure felt like 4 hrs . bottom line: LOTR is a hell of a lot better
