I've been at the same position, for the same employer, since 1992.

Before that I did the same thing as a freelancer.

Before that I was a Fiat mechanic, worked in a small cabinet shop, and when I was a kid in school I had a few part time jobs in restaurants, starting at a Shakey's Pizza Parlor when I was 16.

I grew up in a smalll-ish city, population 22,000....never got held up. It was nothing like Clerks...the store was actually quite busy when I worked (weekends during the day during the school year, afternoon shift in summer). It was a nice easy way to make a few bucks through the last couple of years of high school.

My dad only let me work when it was summer time. I usually didn't. Seriously, who wants to work when it's summer
He always said that if I had extra time after school, I needed to spend it on school activities. I was in: Spanish Club, Theatre Club, Social Justice Society, Cross Country, Boxing, Campus Ministry Team....and prolly a few other things. I was always bored.

i'm not gonna lie lol i had really fucking good as a kid, as far as money went at least. But i also didn't have extravagant tastes, and i never asked my parents for anything i didn't need. do you have good memories of your teenage jobs, or did it pretty much suck ass?

That has to be tough...cause I know sometimes i can be a ass...I takes a tough person to be waitress.

pretty much all my friends agreed that I am too much of a space cadet to ever hold any sort of structured job that requires constant attention, like being a waiter.

well i remember it was fun at times lol you know how teenagers are - they're not real serious about much. i had fun working with friends and such but overall, i wished I didnt have to work. but i did like having pocket change. my parents paid for everything else (car, college, clothes, food, etc) so that money was really mine. and I saved a lot of it and took it with me when i went away to school. I burned through nearly 2 grand my first semester away at school and all I had to pay for was the $3 parties lmao
but i didnt work when I was away at school, but then again I was only away for 1.5 yrs. i really needed the structure of living at home in order to keep on the right track with school and such. (immature)

Same situation here: I was only allowed to work on Sundays during the school year, 7am-3pm, and during the summer. They gave me money for pretty much anything I wanted, but I still wanted that little bit of extra cash that I earned myself.

I'm between Kingston and Cornwall....but the company I did the self-defense gig for is based near Cornwall: S.A.F.E. International

They do a lot of work up in the GTA

I used to train at a school in Brockville run by Sensei Dan Coles. At the time, I think the school was a franchise under Jeff Hall, who had the flagship dojo in Pickering.
